@pjar786 жыл бұрын
Hi Rodney. Thank you for that video. It was a great help to learning the game. There are 2 things (and maybe more later) that I am not clear on. 1) You cannot introduce Epic Heroes until the Ordinary Heroes are all gone. Does this include heroes that are in town? If they are not yet claimed do you keep building rooms until they are claimed by someone, with no new heroes coming to town? This could lead to an impasse if everyone refuses to build rooms so as not to attract a strong hero... 2) If all other opponents are eliminated, do you automatically win as the sole survivor even if you do not have 10 souls? The rules say you need 10 souls to win. So, if everyone else is eliminated do you need to keep playing alone to see if you die or get 10 souls?
@WatchItPlayed6 жыл бұрын
I'm glad the video was helpful! Revealing Epic Heroes happens as soon as the regular hero deck runs out, so you don't have to clear the regular heroes out of town before the more powerful ones start rolling in. Players could choose to work together to avoid new heroes coming into town by keeping their treasure types tied with each other, but it's likely someone will want to try to grab more points eventually. As for being the last player remaining, you can indeed win that way! No need to have 10 souls in that case.

+Watch It Played I do have some questions on some things about the game, if you would be so kind as to help me out here: 1. Are you, at any time, allowed to search the Discard Pile? Due to some cards having effects that have you search the Room Deck OR the Discard Pile for whatever reason, it's led me to believe that the Discard Pile should only be searched when stated too, or if its an option. I'm in the middle of someone else's video trying to explain how the game works, and both players have been going through that thing without anything saying otherwise, just to see what's there. 2. Can Normal Rooms be played overtop of Advanced Rooms in an attempt to change the rooms treasure type to something else for another card to be played in a later turn? I think I have more, but these are two I've got fresh in my head. lol.
@WatchItPlayed8 жыл бұрын
+Floyd Hunter 1. Yes. 2. An ordinary Room can always be played on any Room type.
@TRNFloyd8 жыл бұрын
+Watch It Played I have one more question: Is this the strongest room you've ever seen?: i.imgur.com/fwhgC9y.jpg Me and my brother just played this match, and the way this room ended up, he had a potential 32 damage. His Goblin Nursery had the level up from Eclipse, he had one spell card in hand and was planning on using Warp Tube as a just-in-case. However, the cleric went to me and died on a room that allowed me to draw a spell card, which I drew the one that makes a hero in his dungeon skip a room - and because he had a full dungeon it made him skip two rooms. After that, he got one more epic and only had 8 damage from 32(would of been 9 but I had a trap that allowed me to lower the Goblin Nursery by one damage point). The epic he lured had 12 health and he lost because of it. It was a win or lose two round situation and I was just wondering if that would of been the highest damage counter you've seen? xD

+Floyd Hunter That seems like it might be :)

Thanks so much for this (as always)! One question though: Can the non-active players play spell cards during the adventure phase? If so, then I guess the active player has a chance to respond with spell cards as well? For example: Can the non-active player play two Assassin cards when a hero enters a room on the active player's dungeon?
@WatchItPlayed8 жыл бұрын
Here's how the rule book describes it: "Priority: You are the active player while you are placing a room face-down during the Build phase, or while you are “processing” Heroes in your dungeon. If another player plays a Spell while you are the active player, you may play any number of Spells or abilities and they resolve before opponents’ Spells or abilities."

You said at the 1:00 mark, remove all cards higher than the number of people playing. In your example you had a 2 player game so 3 and 4 player cards were removed. If you had played with 4 people, does that mean the 2 and 3 player card were left in the game or removed?
@WatchItPlayed10 ай бұрын
Since cards marked 2 and 3 aren't a higher value than the number of players in your example, they aren't removed. Hope that helps!
@KnakuanaRka16 күн бұрын
It says to remove all of them with counts higher than the number of players (not other than that number, which is what your suggestion is doing). So in a 2-player game you’d remove the 3 and 4 cards, with 3 players you’d remove the 4 cards (leaving the 2 and 3), and with 4 players you’d keep all of them. Think of the player count as being for that many or more, so a 3 card is used then there are 3 or more players.

When more than two players playing. Can a player play a spell on another player even though it is neither players active turn? Then if so. That player has a chance to react or is he defenseless against that spell? Or can the player respond by doing a room ability or spell card? Then is it xp order for the spells resolution?
@WatchItPlayed10 жыл бұрын
Outside of dealing with the Active player, my understanding is that you default back to XP Order. I'll see if the publishers can confirm that.
@cormiergames10 жыл бұрын
Thanks this is a major issue we are having. Because if you are lower xp then you are royally screwed. I personally think that no spells can be played except towards the active player.
@BrotherwiseGames10 жыл бұрын
Nathan Cormier It is true that in a 3-4 player game, Spells between non-active players are resolved in XP order. We haven't seen this create issues, because in most cases where timing really matters (like responding to an Assassin with a Cave-In) are only relevant when one of the players in question is active. Or if you want a particular Spell to resolve without the chance for players to react (like Jeopardy), you just wait until a moment when you're the active player. Are you seeing a particular Spell that non-active players are able to abuse to the detriment of lower-XP players?

Hello I have a question, I bought it and I do not have much idea of two things: how do the magic cards work in order? Specifically, how does the counterspell card apply to another? Type if the active player uses a magic and another player uses the counterspell is it deactivated? Or it doesn't work because the active player's card has priority? Or let's say that order doesn't matter, what happens if the active player uses a magic, another activates a counterspell and another activates another magic and has higher priority (XP) than the counterspell player? Deny the card of the other player with higher XP? Or that of the active player?

What if you leave a hero in town? Your original 2 heroes had 1 that would have been left in town due to a tie. If the round concludes and there is still 1 hero in town, where do you put the new ones in relation to the leftover hero and what order do you go in from there? Do you try and lure the 2 new guys 1st in the next round? Or does the hero from round 1 get 1st dibs?

@WatchItPlayed5 жыл бұрын
I’m not quite sure I understand the question. Where in the video do I suggest placing cards face down on a room? That might help me understand what you’re referring to.
@richardkane35095 жыл бұрын
@@WatchItPlayed in the beginning of the build phase you play rooms face down, and turn them face up at the end then apply whatever effects. Well if that room you played is replacing or upgrading an existing room (ie played on top of) is that room now inactive in the middle of the build phase

@@richardkane3509 Ah, I understand now - thanks for the clarification (I recorded this a few years ago, so I was a bit fuzzy). My understanding is that as soon as it is covered, that effect is gone, BUT, the rule book doesn't really clarify that one way or the other that I can see, unfortunately.

I'm a couple weeks late so you might have found the answer already, but Monster Rooms with a star instead of a number for the damage it deals should tell you what that number should be in the description of the card. For example, I don't remember the name of the room, but it has a star for the damage and it says that its damage is equal to the number of rooms in your dungeon (which would range from 1 to 5).
@feefeee9 жыл бұрын
MrSelkies But it still has the 2 damage counters, that star replaces the player icons so must be something to od with that

During the build and adventure phase, can ANY player play spell cards during a specific player's turn?
@WatchItPlayed7 жыл бұрын
You may play any number of Spells per turn, but may only play Spells during the Build and Adventure phases. You are the active player while you are placing a room face-down during the Build phase, or while you are “processing” Heroes in your dungeon. If another player plays a Spell while you are the active player, you may play any number of Spells or abilities and they resolve before opponents’ Spells or abilities. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the great video. I made a move that won a game last night and the legality of it was questioned. I will describe the situation. I had 5 monster rooms, one of wich was a advanced monster room the one that is the same power as the amount of monster rooms in my dungeon wich was 5. So a epic theif came to town I needed two more souls to win, I had no money bags my friend had 3. On the room with 5 power advanced monster room I built the double money bag treasure card, the one that if you destroy it, it doubles the amount of money bags in your treasure count, on top of the 5 power advanced monster room. So once built I destroyed it to get 4 money bags in my treasure bank for that turn beating my friends 3, that wasn't questioned initially, however what was, was the advanced monster room with a five a power that I needed to kill the epic theif was. 1st problem that was had was, i was questioned weather I could build a regular room on top of a advanced monster room? 2nd problem I wasn't allowed to destroy that room so quickly after just building it. 3rd since I built on top of it and destroyed it all the rooms underneath get destroyed too. Now i know the 3rd problem was answered towards the end of your video. But the other 2 I'm curious about . The double money bag card was a trap room I forget the name like treasure trap or something like that, it has 2 money bags treasures and says destroy this room And either double your money bag treasure count or add 2 to it. Thanks for any help.
@WatchItPlayed8 жыл бұрын
1) Normal Monster and Trap Rooms can be built ontop of any other Room card. 2) Rooms cannot be destroyed by a player unless it activates an effect. As long as you were destroying it to activate an effect, I don't see a problem with destroying a just built room.
@aidandonnelly78078 жыл бұрын
I know this is a sorta old comment, but I just picked up boss monster at gen con, and after analyzing that card, I realised that when it says destroy the card to double your treasure, it doesn't count that one. that would mean that any cleric, fighter, and mage treasure rooms would double, but because you didn't have any thief treasure, it wouldn't be doubled, remaining at zero. the two thief treasures on that card only count until the card is destroyed, therefore doubling all the treasure in your dungeon.

Can a spell just be whipped out at any time by any player... as much as you want ? Or can they only be played during your turn?
@WatchItPlayed5 жыл бұрын
Hey Dgram, the video covers when certain spells can be played, so check the video for that. You can play spells when it is not your turn, but there is a priority to it: Priority: You are the active player while you are placing a room face-down during the Build phase, or while you are “processing” Heroes in your dungeon. If another player plays a Spell while you are the active player, you may play any number of Spells or abilities and they resolve before opponents’ Spells or abilities.

@@WatchItPlayed thanks for the reply.. and great videos. Is it customary for the Active player to move thier hero somewhat slowly through a dungeon, giving other players a chance to use spells on upcoming rooms? Is it an ettiquette thing? We all know that in our minds we have it all played out... and maybe we assume the faster we whip the hero through... the less time someone has to destroy an upcoming room... ?

When 2 Hero's attack a dungeon on the same turn...do the rooms the 2nd hero travels through deal the same damage as they did to the first hero that traveled through them. Are the room deactivated when a hero travels out of them? If so this would make it kinda hard to kill a second hero attacking your dungeon on the same turn.
