That last demo clip with the Tom Morello convinced me this is as useful or more useful than the Whammy. Until then, I've never seen a pedal that made me want to replace the Whammy. The fact it can do the same kind of 2 octave up bends is pretty amazing. And I agree. Pro Guitar Shop Demos are better than pretty much any others. Thanks guys.

this seems like a nice alternative to a digitech whammy pedal especially if you have an expression pedal to control the pitch bends (or maybe even an E-H POG or some other octaver?)...plus it's smaller than both and smaller is better... ps...that happy major harmony pissed me off!

This pedal is far supieror to the original HR-2 harmonist, and will be on my pedal board before my next gig!
@lauriedepaurie12 жыл бұрын
In front. Octavers and harmonizers track best with the cleanest signal possible. If you put OD-stages in the harmoniser, it will fight with all of the overtones your distorted signal contains. But I'd say, you wouldn't be the first one to creating a signature tone by messing up the order of pedals :P
@TheMasonator7774 ай бұрын
Only if you are using two amps for a dual harmony. If you put a summed dual harmony summed mono into a distortion it turns to mush. You don’t get a clean two part harmony that way, you get the sound of one guitar playing both intervals. Same reason you don’t generally use a digital delay before the amp. Octavers are different because sometimes you want the octaves to run together. You can do anything you like, but it’s incorrect to say Andy “messed up”.
@Polderviolence13 жыл бұрын
@gredangeo Depends on the interval, and how you have them mixed. Say both are at 50/50 dry wet blend. Having the first be a fourth up and the sencond an octave. You'd get your original signal+a 4th+an Octave+a 4th one octave up.

This looks like a really fun pedal to play with but the harmonies didn't sounded really organic to me.
@Bilbo_mk113 жыл бұрын
@ProGuitarShopDemos Hey man I'm not saying you're wrong, just advising with my setup (using a POD 2.0) the Harmoniser sounded unbelievably bad at the beginning of the signal chain but the sounds were similar to this video if it was put at the end. The distortion created by the POD was basically disorting the harmonies, just a tip for anyone with the same setup, put it at the end definitely!

hey guys ive used the Digitech whammy and i just bought this for £115, theres no comparison this is streets ahead for tracking versatility and ease of use , my tip is write down settings from the online demos and your own experiments, to help ease you into it, after a couple of weeks you'll be using it on every tune you play , im thinking of buying another one its got so many modes, ive got it sounding like a hammond organ on stuff like Black Night and the Charlatons Only One I Know, Buy Buy Buy

hey andy ! happy new year ! between this baby and the hr-2 which one do you recommend all i'm interested in is harmony leads that you just played from boston , pink floyd and also thin lizzy uses a lot of leads like that ,as for the octaves i've got the oc-2 the ps-3 the pog-2 all i want is a pedal to harmonize leads is there any other brand out there besides boss. thank you so much for your help because it's becoming an obsession i never thought such a stompbox existed , god bless !

@JamesStephanMusic13 жыл бұрын
@plasticguitar This thing is SO much better than the Digitech whammy for harmonies. The boss pedal automatically gives you harmony notes, whereas the digitech is pretty useless in that category. The Digitech offers more ovtaves for divebombs it seems though. In reality, the whammy features are fun to mess around with for about 20 mins, but are pretty useless for the most part (unless you're trying to do RATM or Audioslave solos in your set)

I want this pedal. I must ahve it. And honestly I want it just for the rise fall vibrato effect. I can do all the other stuff with my whammy.
@emerald87611 жыл бұрын
Probably better since it's getting a clean signal to track and harmonize with.
@VegetativeHorse14 жыл бұрын
@SkateTS808 It's not the same when you harmonize on your own, especially if you use distortion, in which case the harmonies created by the distorted tone of each string blend with each other. Harmonizers sound more like two separate guitars soloing, which is what people obviously want of pedals like this. Although I prefer the tone of the original whammy with it's unintentional digital artifacts, this would have been a nice rival if it came with a proper expression pedal.
