I had a chance to play with RC-505 in my past and without that i would not know how skilled you actually are with it. In your videos looks all so simple, just press a button and voila! But it's not that simple at all! RC-505 is not a simple box that do the magic, it's an instrument that needs a practice, & it needs a lot of it! Thank you for sharing your secrets!:)

Great tutorial! Loved it. If I may, one suggestion for your tutorial videos is to use a wider lens or shoot from further away. Some of the angles seemed way too close in my opinion. By the way I stumbled on your channel from another looping guy, and was pleasantly surprised! Love the moody feel to your music. Keep it up!

Easy. You just have to learn all these instruments, practice-practice-practice, develop rhythm and melodic compositional skills plus a fair stack of music fundamentals, finance/buy/learn all the tech, get the house to put it in and a small van to move it with when going to perform, buy some cameras and PA gear, light the candles, develop an imagination, become a generous soul willing to share all the knowledge and VOILA! Any monkey can do it. He might not ever have time to eat or any money left for food after buying that next piece of must-have equipment but so what: skinny monkeys climb higher. He said so himself "that is that for putting my music together in one take". Hmmm... Humility. After all the other stuff already mentioned, becoming a decent human might be too much for some. Thank you for your generosity of spirit Reinhardt. The music is just who you are it seems.

Hey man! Really awesome job. I´m loving these. If I could give some criticism I would suggest changing it up a bit. Pretty much all your songs Ive heard are almost identical. From a musical view and from a creation process aspect as well. (first beat, then guitar, then cello, then didjeroo, some more cello and horn) Would be cool to see some different beats, patterns, instruments... etc. It can be challenging at first but thats half the fun, right? ;) Still 10/10
@ReinhardtBuhr5 жыл бұрын
Awesome thanks for the critique, do you have any suggestions ?
@PabloYCarol5 жыл бұрын
@@ReinhardtBuhr mmmm. Change the order of when the instruments come in. Maybe start with the cello or with the didgeridoo. Or try to make some music with a more pronounced and fast beatbox rhythm. Idk, just some ideas.

@nomandad20005 жыл бұрын
Pablo Santos I was gonna echo this. The underlying melodies often seem to be those two chord patterns, with the same instrumentation. But those beat machines are capable of so much more than simple 4/4 techno beats, and I would say he should lay down different patterns with his bass, to add his instruments to. Doesn’t have to be arpeggios or those new agey ambient sounds every time, he could put down chord progressions with distortion, etc. I agree though, that this guy is kick ass
@flrn847913 жыл бұрын
Well, as a musician I would agree that many of his videos do follow the same order and beat, but at the same time each is unique, and people seem to enjoy each and every track, it's his trademark and style. If you checked his latest album and generally music since he switched to Ableton Live, he's developped his style a lot since the years of street music with the RC-505 :)

Awesome video man! Keep it up! Since I've seen your first video I'm kind of addicted to your style. Also I'm thinking of purchasing an rc505 as I'm only using the rc 1 at the moment but the possibilities are quite limited with it. Does the sequencer have a built in kick sound or a signal is sent into it? I love the sound of it.

I’ve been trying to set each loop track to a different length on my 505. How do you do that? So a short rhythm, but with a longer looped melody. It seems I can only have the different length loops on certain loops (free)..? How do you do it? I use Wavedrum, piano, and violin. I want the piano and violin loops at different lengths
