On a related note; Lovecraft REALLY wouldn't have approved of Bloodborne in general, considering the fact that while it's a great tribute to his works, it's just as much a criticism of the man himself: The scientists and upper-society Londoner stand-ins, who would've been the main characters in his Anglophiliac works, are the real villains whose evil progressively turn them into monsters; the outsiders, like Gilbert and Eileen, are the only decent people around; most of the alien gods are sympathetic and decent towards humans, even seeking to help us, while it's the barbaric humans, with their greed and ambitions, who abuse the Great Ones and their altruistic gifts -- all of which flies right in the face of Lovecraft's conviction that a superior race would/should oppress an inferior one rather than lift it up... Basically, Bloodborne gives Lovecraft's works and literal legacy the thumb-up that they deserve while also giving Lovecraft himself the bird that he deserves.

One of my favorite things about the Soulsborne games is how different everyone's experiences are. It took me what felt like a hundred tries to beat Martyr Logarius, but I beat Mergo, Gehrman and the Moon Presence on my first try.

I think the reason why the wet nurse is easy because it’s the game’s way of saying YOU are the boogeyman and the wet nurse was protecting Mergo from you. The nightmare slain doesn’t happen until after you kill the baby. Also by this time your hunter has been getting stronger and knows how to parry better and have fully upgraded their weapon of choosing so that’s another reason why this match was easy. I beat the orphan before fighting the wet nurse.

Richard Welch it can give a little bit of trouble for people who are fighting it for the first time. I'd say it more ties with the one reborn, who is about as hard on your first encounter. They aren't difficult, but there are mechanics to trip up on if you don't know them.

It really depends on your playstile,Wet Nurse reckt me many times while I first try Amygdala and have no Problems with Rom,Gascoine.Witches if Hemwick are extremely easy but not comparable with the Wet Nurse.Same goes to One Reborn and Amissary,at first u dont know what to do and die but on the 2nd try you reck them

It's now just a marathon of 4 boss fights for me. I killed Mergo's Wet Nurse last night. I happened to be right by her when she went to summon in that darkness and the clone, so I hit her and it knocked her out of summoning it. Went the whole fight without having to run around in darkness avoiding those other attacks from her and the double. It wasn't a difficult fight at all, but I really enjoyed it and I loved the music. It really does suit the fight.

This is honestly my favorite boss in the whole game next to gehrman. The unsettling baby crying in a giant arena of bodies, the horrifying design of the wet nurse, badass attacks and weapons, a second phase thats just as good, and above all else, a creepy music box playing throughout the whole fight

This has always been the easiest boss for me. First time running against the Wet Nurse it was just a matter of standing back and watching her attacks for a good two to three minutes. She has such obvious tells and most of the time whatever attack she does keeps her locked in animation for so long you can get away with being greedy and have enough time to let your stamina regen enough to dodge away from her before she attacks again. The mist part they call "phase 2" was a luck of the draw choice for me. I sawthe mist and thought that if I ran id either survive or be killed horribly by the wet nurse pulling an amygdala. Luckily for me she only thrusts after you during that bit. After that part of the fight was over it was a cakewalk from there.

MWN is one of those bosses where you might die once or twice from greed, but dodging and getting behind her and using your strongest weapon that compliments your build can pretty much ensure she'll never leave phase 1. There's very little learning involved and this boss is more lore fodder than anything. Disappointing since I think the concept and design really meshes with the Lovecraftian theme of the final areas of the game. I'll co-op this boss over and over with randoms just to get free echoes.

And welcome to the boss that has the least noticeable phase two in the entirety of Bloodborne. Every single boss has multiple phases (up to 4), but you'd be forgiven for not knowing that this boss does. The only difference between phase one and phase two is that phase two has the clone when the Nurse casts the dark fog. Nothing else changes. Even the Cleric Beast gets new moves in phase two. Personally, I think it would have been appropriate for her end-game status (she is, after all, a final boss) if, at half-ish health, she cast the dark fog and it never went away, so that you had to deal with the clone and the dark for the rest of the fight.

I mean, Darklurker is primarily ranged and Mergo's Wet Nurse is primarily melee, so it would work much better than dark Darklurker. And the Nurse's clone pops in and out, unlike the Darklurker clone, which behaves identically to the first Darklurker.

Mergo's Wet Nurse is one of 3 bosses that CAN be a final boss. She's the final boss for the "submit your life" ending, since in that ending, you fight neither Gehrman nor Moon Presence. Yeah, it's the least fun ending, but it is an ending.

Ah, when Luke over at Outside Xtra fought her, he dodged the hitbox on that dark summoning attack she does. I'd never seen that attack before. He dodged forward through it and that didn't even happen till the very end of the fight. He just stayed right behind her most of the time.

God, all you need to do is stay away from her every time she performs an attack, and get close and poke or combo, if you can, every time she finishes executing an attack. That's like the trick to every slow moving boss fights..
