I’ve contemplated buying bismuth/Boss. I’ve seen and read too many conflicting opinions. I want to see some side by side pattern testing with say some comparable steel 2’s that’s at 1500 FPS (common) compared to Boss 1350 FPS 2’s using whichever choke is best for each load. Say improved modified for steel and full for bismuth. Then I want to see the penetration difference in ballistic gelatin at 40 yards. Yes bismuth is heavier but not by a large margin but the steel is also moving 150 FPS faster. Can’t seem to find that information anywhere.

It isn't even a close comparison. I haven't shot steel in years.

Boss, more power and range but less pellets. Steel less power and range but more pellets. I am going to be switching to boss but if you shoot steel use Kent 2.0s, federal speedshok, or Rio bluesteel
@bobcostas13312 жыл бұрын
Yo it’s the density of the metals. Steel comes out faster but dies off quicker. Both get to 40 yards but Boss has more juice to it because it’s denser
@kross12612 жыл бұрын
@@bobcostas1331 did you read my comment it’s not much denser than steel and is moving slower than many steel loads. I understand density and have shot hevi shot numerous times. But the density difference between steel and tungsten is significant but expensive.
@bobcostas13312 жыл бұрын
@@kross1261 lol I did read your comment. And yes steel because it’s lighter doesn’t hit as hard. The difference is measurable. That’s why they speed it up (1500 fps) to get that terminal velocity. Bismuth can hit just as hard but deforms at really fast speeds. Bringing the speed down gives same stopping power as steel at intermediate range, then at longer range because it’s denser it hits harder

Seems like a lot of mental gymnastics here. Not saying they are bad shells, just haven’t been able to try them since they are always sold out.

Because no one wants to sell them. Not enough interest in them is what I always get told at the LGS's.

If your shells are so great why did your company have to go after a small KZbin channel who HONESTLY reviewed your shells and they performed like shit. And you sent your lawyers after them over an honest review. I would stop hunting if your shells was all I had to use. Not going to “bleed my wallet dry”, on junk shells!! Great company you got there……

Which KZbin channel?

Comments like this and one above are exactly what got them in trouble to start with. They don’t perform like shit, you’re going off of a KZbin video put out by someone else.

Wow. This is some of the craziest "Sucker Sale" marketing I've seen in a while... You're saying that the Bismuth holds a tighter pattern because they are Copper Plated OMG that's just silly. Copper Plating is used on soft Lead Shot to make it harder and denser so that Lead shot holds a tighter pattern. Bismuth is harder than both together, so, why on this Earth would you suggest that using a softer plating on a harder shot is beneficial. That's just dumb talk. As soon as I heard "Copper Plated Bismuth" I busted up laughing. Let me be clear here... YOU DO NOT NEED A SOFT COPPER PLATING ON ANYTHING STEEL... That's like wrapping an egg with a sheet of paper towel...
