In my experience, a foreigner misinterpreting your culture is more funny than offensive as long as they're not making judgements based on those misinterpretations. So basically, keep doing that, it's hilarious for the country involved.

Your pronunciation is actually 95% spot on. Only your o in Bossche is too high, Your o sounds as the o in floss. While the O in Bossche bol sounds like the o in Mole. Nice though. And Btw, Turning it upside down will just cause the chocolate on top to be lost. My advice to eat it is... and it will be messy, Cut it in half grab the one half with your hand and shove it in your open face hole. Chew, and repeat with the second half. My advice, If you ever go to the Netherlands, It's worth the trip to go to Den Bosch ('s-Hertochenbosch), just for the Bossche Bol.

@J0k394

The pastry is spherical. Not a perfect sphere but just a little squat, quite like a profiterole. It has a hole in the bottom from where the cream was injected, and after that it gets dipped in chocolate. The chocolate covering is then not quite covering the entire thing because it needs to be held someplace during dipping. By turning it upside down and eating it from the hole, you're supporting it at the chocolate, which gets your fingers sticky, but because you're enlarging the hole, there's no pressure building up causing the cream to squish out.

Tom, this is one of the few times an outsider actually pronounced something correctly in Dutch! :D Although you couldn't have really f*cked this one up. ;)

Hi Technical Difficulties. Citation needed is fun to watch. And it's versatile. If you play it backwards you get 2 of these people are lying. If you turn it inside out and sideways you get Lateral.

pretty close pronounciation on Bossche bol there actually! next time: the biscuit should be: a recently deceased artists' favourite treat. Bowie's Bossche bol!

Probably the thing that made Tom brave enough to say "bossche bol", but not "reuzenbol" is because the former has an IPA transcription there :^)

pet-de-nonne n. m. (d'un ancien sens métaphorique de pet "beignet"). Beignet soufflé fait avec de la pâte a choux. (Petit Robert). Sounds like a profiterole without the cream (too luxurious for nuns?). I live in France and have never come across them, but the pun with fart isn't lost on the french!

Great episode as always, guys! These always seem like they've only been going for about 5 minutes though and then they're over, which is probably something to do with how they give me a higher laugh count per unit of time than anything else I watch/listen to. Great job, and I can't wait for a new audio episode tomorrow, too! :D
