I really liked Drink's gameplan for the BC offense this week. Rather than focusing on applying pressure to Castellanos, he prioritized sealing the edge so he could not scramble outside the tackles. Out interior D-line is talented enough he knew scrambling up the middle wouldn't be very effective. He forced Castellanos to throw the ball as much as possible and it lead to 2 int's. Castellanos made a few heroic plays, but ultimately I think we did an excellent job of containing him. Only 16 rushing yards on 13 carries a week after he ran fr 75 yards.

I swear, every BC defender thinks they are the only person on the field. The amount of big gains Mizzou got bc two or three BC players all over ran their mark was wild. No communication, no teamwork on tons of downs.

That's kind of the whole point when you play a guy like that. If you over pursue you pass rush lanes that gives him an alley to escape. Containment is more important on a mobile QB

BC only scored one touchdown after the first quarter flurry and it was a completely broken coverage by the safety. Look at yards gained and you'll understand what we're talking about. Mizzou had some big mistakes that would cost them against elite teams, but the defense and run game are so good even a ranked opponent had the life squeezed out of them in the end

It's just that Mizzou is getting entirely too much hype for a team that punched above its weight class last year. This team is ranked some 10 spots higher than it has any business being ranked bc people think bowl games are representative of how good a team is (or will be the following season).

If this is how Mizzou plays Boston College, they have very little business being ranked near Georgia, Texas, Bama, and Ole Miss AND above Tennessee. As an opponent, BC is (kind of) good, but not good enough just yet to warrant being ranked (their wins are against an FCS team and a winless FSU team). I wonder how much of Missouri's ranking is a function of AP voters thinking bowl games say more about CFB teams than preseason games do about NFL teams.
