I wish more people would do long term reviews of gear, etc.

I agree. But sometimes it’s hard for small channels like me to do long-term reviews. I buy most of the things I review with my own money, so if I want to keep the stuff coming in, I have to constantly sell bags. The only way I can afford to keep going. But some things that I really like I had to keep it for quite some time, and I like to do the long-term reviews on them. There’s plenty of products I looked for myself for long-term reviews, you just never see them out there. People think they publish once and that’s enough. But it is really nice to revisit things and see how they do over time.

I enjoyed your very fair review. As a life-long New Englander, I'm a big fan of Boston Scally Company. I know you mentioned a few times about them not having pictures of the caps actually being worn. Whether it's because of your advice or not, they've added a part on the customer review section where they ask for customers to attach photos of them in their caps. It's kind of a clever and organic way to get their customers involved while also eliminating the cost of hiring models and photo shoots.

That is a great way to get reviews and photos. People are more likely to do so if just asked for photos.

Love your review. I have probably purchased upwards of 10 of these from the Dubliner, the Kenmore, multiple colours in the Worker, the Barenuckle (my favourite in the winter) and one of the sailor edition. The fit is perfect and I’m a 60 cm or an XL. My only complaint, and I wear these more than I do a ball cap, is that the material fades pretty quickly. I’ve hand washed with mild soap and even one of my original (Dubliner with the shamrock) threw in the washing machine just to see if the discolouration was more of a dirt in the fabric or discolouration. Discolouration is my pet peeve on these; that and I’m Canadian so the international shipping charges and DHL is super slow and the conversion to Canadian dollars.

Thanks for watching! I’m wearing my hat right now. Might have to pick up another for the summer. This one is finally discolored after 2 years of wear.

Appreciate your review bro! I just ordered a Townie in the light tan and don't like the color or fit, going to switch it for a Scrapper in that color 👌🏼
I dont get people who say country of creation matters more than the actual quality, when it comes to the actual quality. You can dislike the policies of the countries, but you can't call something garbage if you would call it good quality UNTIL you found out where it was made. If you like your hat, these comments dont matter all that much. Im having a 5 panel in grey herringbone shipped as I type this

@@EnglandRemoval while I like made in USA goods, I care more about quality. For the most part, made in the US means quality due to the cost of labor. No one will pay a premium for poor quality. Though a lot of people choose for patriotic pride. That’s fine if that’s what they care about. It’s all personal preference after all.

Agreed! I offered to review and model the hats…. No response…. I guess I’m too good looking for them!

Look if they have employees (male or female) they can use them as models, js
@jeffgrantMEDIA2 ай бұрын
@@Lee784447 they can’t just “use them as models.” as someone that works in marketing and does this for a living, I can’t just make people be Models at work for products that we produce. They need to give permission for the usage of their images. It’s not the same thing as taking a picture of someone in a public space. What you can see from public space you can use from a public space, when you need someone to model a product, you need their permission to do so. Even if they are not compensated and they’re doing it just because I think it would be fun, they still need to grant permission to do so. And the company also needs to want to do that. Just because you have employees, doesn’t mean if it the demographic of the products that you aremanufacturing.

A small percentage will complain about anything

To be clear, are you referring to me talking about the lack of lifestyle photos. Or the fact people were complaining about the customer service and country of origin?

Country of origin is HUGE!!!

Are you going to reply non-sense to every comment? I mean, go for it. It all adds to my analytics. Just curious as I don't get notifications of your replies. So I need to search them manually.

First of they call everyone of there hats Scali caps . That hat u bought although very nice is a British ( which kills me cause these guys are Hard Core SB Irish ) certainly act as tho. It’s a British style ( Peacked ) hat! Maybe this is why they don’t show on a persons head in advertising. They have many many odd shaped hats I am no Scali hat pro but I’d call one of there hats a train conductor hat lol. And you payed at least 2 x more then if u bought elsewhere. To Company’s credit they had to of spent plenty of money on advertising! How else could this kid look so cool walking around his home town of Boston ( well the parts that make him look cool) Telegraph hill Ctown , Bovas. Now what these ads showed me a 45 yr Boston Res. is this kid nvr lived anywhere in Boston because true Boston men don’t strut around these areas like our town made us badass. Oh I’m sure this kid lives in Boston now but will be back to whatever suburb he came from. This kid may look pretty with his look at my eyes staring into no where n my short short sleeved T. My friends took a “ Dudley “ as our parents worded it. To Madison Park with the Triple Fat Goose Polo coats we stole weekly m wearing our $7 Scali caps with gazelles from Joneses no doubt. We knew that we’d be going home with the clothes we were proud of no matter how we obtained. These are the same guys I still see n no matter how successful or bad off laugh at clowns like this. I agree spend the money on ur product there not looking for a new Markey Mark ( Madison park student to boot lol)

First off.... WHAT? at 45, you should be able to write a coherent sentence. Secondly, am I The Kid? I do not live in Boston, never claimed to live in Boston, and I do not sound like I am from Boston. It's been nearly 20 years sense I was in Boston. I say very often in my videos, I am From Northeastern PA. And Third.... what?
@gbcarl9 ай бұрын
You missed the most important thing… their caps are made in China! and the company is not from, or in Boston, they are in Waltham.
@jeffgrantMEDIA9 ай бұрын
Now you are just arguing semantics. I am not from Massachusetts, but a quick Google search shows that Walthem is a suburb of Boston. It's close enough in proximity, and they are not claiming they are from Boston in their literature. They are saying the style is from Boston. That's like me telling you I live in Scranton. I no longer live in the city, hell not even in the same county. But I say I am from Scranton, because no one has ever heard of the town I live in and I am only 15-20 minutes away.
@markcarroll57506 ай бұрын
@@jeffgrantMEDIA Yup. Fenway is 10 minutes from Waltham. Mike Arone--the owner of the company--is a great dude. Grew up in Waltham, went to college in Connecticut. New England through and through. BSC is considered an American company although, yes, the hats are assembled in China.
@JimA-pp2nu Жыл бұрын
seeing other people in hats is irrelevant , we all have different shaped heads and faces. You're also opening them up to photoshopping , etc
@jeffgrantMEDIA Жыл бұрын
Yes, everyone has a different shape face, but seeing it on someone give you an understanding of how it will look. Is the hat a very slim profile? Does it ride high? Flat brim? Short brim? All things you cannot tell without a bit of perspective. And it is VERY easy to tell if the image is photoshopped. Just look at 98% of small Amazon sellers.... every product photo is photoshopped and it is 100% noticeable.
