So happy Anna drew Dina with that rating discrepancy. Anna pushed Dina hard and made her work for that draw instead of outright loss to Anna. You can see Dina’s WGM qualities in retrieving bad situations. GG all around, admirable players. And of course Pia being the best chess commentator, such stamina all around.

Game was a roller coaster. Nice hold with rook end game for the draw. We didn't know how you felt after the game since there was no post game appearance. I did watch a bit of Dina's post game on her stream. She said that she felt really nervous and underestimated you. Good luck in your next round!

How incredibly exciting to have a video of the Cramlings in such big games. I used to drool from the mouth when such opportunities occurred, which happened only three times in my life, costing too much to travel from Kansas. Now I am too old and little money to be someone who could propose to Ms. Cramling. . .THAT is how exciting it is to witness such moments! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!_

Anna you need to work on recovery after you blunder. It was painful seeing you tilted and waste so much of your 30 minutes after. If you walked away for a few minutes to just clear your head you would have been more focused, less tilted, and wasted less time. I wish you the best in the rest of the tournament! ❤

1:01:41 I would like to open a window into her mind here.. this physical movement seems.. neurotic :) in the nicest way possible of course ! Mental energy is actually easier to spend than physical energy.. within the context of such a game of course I don't think the opponent likes the camera or something ? after a few minutes of watching I think she too is wasting mental energy !

During the middle of the game (1:05:45), Dina shared a smirk with Andrea Botez and then left the table to change into a Hikaru pineapple shirt. But despite this one incident, Dina acted with the necessary respect and class expected at any serious chess tournament.

Anna Anna Anna! You have such bad time management habits! After Ne8 Anna you simply move Bg3 this is NOT the time to squander clock time. Do your thinking when your move is NOT obvious.

Are u gm?
@KeithAllpress
@KeithAllpress 2 ай бұрын
@Randomguy0-0 Far from it. But I have a book by Kotov called Think like a GM. I got frustrated watching Anna spend ages on a move that she should have made quickly. If you listen to Pia's commentary she said there are only two choices and one of them is far more principled. But Anna spent her clock time for far too long before taking the principled option. It is well known Anna gets into time trouble too often. She is better than her results indicate because of some simple things that are easily fixed. It doesn't take a grand master to understand that you don't spend all your time on moves you must make anyway, and it is always preferable whenever possible to do your thinking on your opponent's time.

@daxster25 Well maybe but it's still a bad habit. And it causes mental tiredness. Her opponent has a good many next moves so Anna is wasting energy on variations that won't be played.
