Welcome! Or welcome back! This Is a project I have always wanted to tackle. There is something very cool about a antique bottle capper that speaks to me. While doing some research I came across the fact that bottle cappers become popular during Prohibition (for those of you not from America, that was when alcohol was banned in America during the 1920's) As always, I'd love to hear your input. Did I get it right? How about the color? Was the intro too experimental? Your comments help me shape the content, so thanks! And most importantly....Thanks For Watching!
Note: I am trying out (again) not including a spoiler image in the thumbnail. We'll see how that goes.
Bottle Caps.
Silver Oxygen Barrier Caps. amzn.to/3vhSbsa
Dremel Tool. amzn.to/2TjShCi
Sandblast Cabinet.

Mission Silicon Paste. amzn.to/3xd77t1
Shellac.
Bulls Eye Amber Shellac. amzn.to/3cBDcms

Sandpaper.
Dura Gold Premium. Wet or Dry, Variety Pack Sandpaper.150-3000 grit. If you want to try a mirror finish the variety pack is a nice way to buy all the sandpaper you need with one click. Note: these are half sheets, not full sized. amzn.to/32kK8yI
Miady Sandpaper Variety Pack.Wet or Dry.120-3000. This is more economical than Dura- Gold. You get more sheets at a lower cost, and its still pretty good. amzn.to/32mIYCL
Sanding Drums for Dremel 432 pcs. These do not compare in quality to Dremel brand sanding drums. But over 400 pcs for under $20. amzn.to/3soWbFW
Bristle Disk. These have recently become an essential part of my tool kit. I don't have a favorite brand, however, these are the ones I'm currently using. amzn.to/2QaXiMf
Buffing Kit.
Purui Buffing Kit. I love this kit...period. I feel it transformed my Harbor Freight buffer. The Harbor freight buffer is great. The buffing wheels it comes with I don't care for. amzn.to/2Q9zNmN
And the rest.
Painters Pyramids.amzn.to/2OXG58z
Paint stir sticks. amzn.to/2RCUGqJ
Acetone. This is the Amazon link. amzn.to/3uXcNGj But, buy this at your local big box store for about 8 bucks.
Mini Files. Those come from Harbor Freight for about 3 bucks. Here is the Amazon link for the same thing. amzn.to/2Q9XhIt ...but these are pricey in comparison to buying them from Harbor Freight.

Just watched the bottle cap installer restoration, beautiful work. But the one that blew me away was the restoration of the surveyor instrument. I worked in construction for 37 years before retiring 9 years ago and i NEVER saw an instrument that beautiful! A true work of art. Thank you for your hard work and videos.

I love the entertainment parts and you restored this to better condition than it was made, fixing the casting defects and making it a functional work of art. I am a kid of the 60's the days of fishing a bottle of Coke or Pepsi or maybe Dad's root beer out of a big red Coca Cola ice chest on a small country store's front porch and then using the pry off bottlecap opener on the chest to pop the cap. As a little kid, I was so proud that I could do it myself! I love simple inventions like bottle cappers and openers related to that era and earlier.

Lovely work. An yeah, sand blasters are cool. I don't have one myself, yet, but I have run them in a shop I used to work at. Makes it so much easier to clean rust and paint off of tools. I'm just about done restoring a 20 some odd year old True Temper wheelbarrow, some painting then put it back together. That's the 3rd one I've done, first two were maybe 10 years old. My next project is either a 70 to 80 yr old garden wheelbarrow, or a garden rake that was welded to other metal to produce a pull behind landscape rake. I think my great uncle did that for my grandmother or great aunt about 50 or 60 years ago. I know that lawnmower rake attachment has been floating around the yard since I was a little child, at least since I was 3 (I'm 51 now). I have to thank restorers like you for giving me the confidence to restore tools around my place, which the property has been in the family for about 200 years. Heck, the house I am living in is over 100 years old.

What I liked the most is your sense of humor, sometimes it's hard to be funny and look good doing it. As a side note alcohol was never banned in America, you could drink all you wanted anytime you wanted but what was banned was the sale, manufacture, and transportation, so if I went over to a friend's house who had a case or 60 we could drink all we wanted and if we wanted to give a few cases away and they wanted to help us pay for our house so be it.

Dude that is super awesome. I really like the entire video. Couple improvement.. Text make sure to color it right and make it stay up a while longer. Sometimes people do not always catch it and they miss it. I think that was it. I think it came out really nice. Maybe you could have added some scroll work and highlighted the name. Though it was super awesome. i really like the new sand blaster it will be fun to see what other things you take it for a ride with. Like I have said before this is one of the better restoration channels where you take something that you would not think would ever be restored and turn it in to a work of art.

Great video and lovely result. Maybe you just didn't show it, but on stuff that old you should always test for lead paint before you start blasting. Lead paint should always be removed with a chemical stripper instead of abrasives so you don't run the risk of breathing it in.
