Lately, mainly in the triatlhon they are using ceramics pulleys, some with a very large size (of the brand ceramicspeed). Maybe it could be a subject for a future video, what kind of pulley is better, how much better they are, and how to change them. Even if it's just trading for a new one. As always your videos are great, thank you!

The bottom bracket that I have to use (sm-BB7141) has a tube that goes between the 2 bearings. I have a feeling that there was more to the bottom bracket on the ends two.

I think the poly tube as a drift is not necessary. Once you pre-fit the bearings in the shell, they are already tightly aligned right. The only drift guide which might me useful is for the any piece that presses on the bearing but here you got a nice plastic adapter which center hole is of the same diameter as the threaded rod so it stays centered while pressing on the bearing.

thanks for posting this video. I probably asked a question on another of your videos, but this video is more relevant. I have a GXP BB92 BB, which is 37x24 on the drive side and 37x22 on the other side. I searched Bunnings but couldn't find a washer with a 37 OD. Can I ask where you found the washer?
@stevenleffanue5 жыл бұрын
Try plumbing section. If no luck try an automotive supplier, they usually carry odd sizes.
@riffmeisterkl5 жыл бұрын
I managed to make the tool, but substituted two 5/8 washers on either side, and a 93mm length of 22mm pvc pipe instead of poly tubing. The 5/8 washer has an OD approx 37mm. BB went in nice.

Remove crank. Remove dust caps with a blade,small screwdriver or dental pick. Remove bearing seal with simial tool. Clean bearing,regrease and put seals back on. Done

Not all bbs are the same then. I got to the seal and that was as far as I could get. The seal was inside and the cup was built in such a way it has to come out first before you can access the bearings. Such a pain in the ass.
