By the way, I wanted to ask about the Tool videos. Do you not make any Tool videos until the one that you wait 30 days for is played. I didn't understand why we couldn't still see 1 per week, they would just be 30 days old. I am in no way criticizing you. I'm a big supporter in you doing whatever you want to do Maybe you just don't have time for them, or maybe it's just not your cup of tea. Lol. Just wondering.

@Mark Spooner I could make a Tool video every day if I wanted to. You just wouldn't see them until 30 days after the day I upload it. There's a huge gap in between because I don't make Tool videos that often. I like to get some feedback from you all before I do another one, as far as what direction to go next. But I'm going to try to do them a little more consistently. They seem harder to do for some reason.

@@MusicCatsandCoffee So many life memories around these first two albums for me. Just an early 20's ski bum, cruising around the mountainous West, looking for snow. And as you know by now, that spoken word section was Henry Rollins. Maynard also did guest spots with other bands like RATM and Deftones. They were all coming up and touring together in the 90's, and got to know each other well.

In 2012, 1 and a ½ years into quake season, Rollins did a spoken word gig in my city of Christchurch, New Zealand. Very small venue, around a hundred or two in the crowd. He glanced numerous times at each of us in the first few rows, really personable. Interesting stories about his asshole Dad, and Henry's travels.

Intolerance, undertow and Flood off this album. Part of Me, Cold & Ugly, Jerk off & Opiate off Opiate album are awesome too. Paul D'Amour on bass for these, has his own unique sound with muting etc and less wah pedal and other manipulations that Justin uses in later albums. Part of me and Flood are two of my favourites to play on bass.

ok, you make an interesting statement near the end. You basically separate Tool songs into 2 categories. We have songs like most of the ones off of Undertow, which are basically bangers. These are the kind of songs that if you enjoy metal you can get into very quickly. The song 'Ticks & Leeches' which came later can also be included in this category. And then there's the more cerebral Tool songs. Songs like Lateralus, and many, many others. Now while some find some kind of instant satisfaction from songs like these, I believe most find the more you listen to songs like these, the more you like and appreciate them. These songs grow on you, if you allow them to, and eventually you realize just how amazing they truly are. The first listen might, in fact, be a bit boring, but it's upon multiple listens you're able to wrap yourself around the entire song and the more familiar it sounds the more amazing it becomes. Afterall, reading a joke takes little effort, but reading a book, takes a lot more effort, but the reward can be much greater than just a silly joke. While I enjoy songs like Bottom and the other head bangers, they do not hold a candle to the amazing pieces, such as Lateralus, Pneuma or Descending. The genius of these latter songs are that they will always grow on you, as the other songs might get a little tired. Just 2 cents.
