I can't believe I'm saying this.... Truth or Square had a better idea than this. At least when it had clips, it was arguably meant to be a flashback. What killed the episode was the execution. Just get rid of Patchy, use clips and ideas from good episodes and turn them into plot motivators, and boom! Good TV movie. This episode had no chance. Bad execution, bad ideas, bad clips, and it just keeps going and going and going AND GOING.

The purpose of the end credits is to properly acknowledge the people who made production of the show possible, so by shoving said credits to the side, the networks are flat out telling us that these people are not important. I still say the best clip show episode of any show ever is the one from Clerks: The Animated Series. Not only did they treat the premise as a joke in and of itself (with it being the *second episode* of the series and recycling a clip from the first episode like three times, as well as flashing back to things that happened within the same episode), it also made up clips of things that just didn't happen, such as the Steven Spielberg classic Flintstone's List. That's how you do it right. As for clip shows in this episode's vein, I still have a soft spot for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air's blooper/clip show episode. At least that one had Dick Clark.

This was something Dan did starting with iCarly and making it mandatory for all of his shows until his firing. I’m guessing he would have done this with Henry Danger if he had been allowed to stay until the show officially ended. The framing devices for all the clip shows are terrible. The worst is the iCarly and Victorious blooper episodes with Rex (or should I say the British talking ((really random)) Christopher Caine?). All these episodes do is make us not like the show and realize everyone associated with the show has run out of ideas. Also the blooper episodes really harp on the fact that Dan is a control freak and mean about it. In the Victorious blooper episode Ariana Grande is supposed to be saying the line “oh yeah and then Jade will get to play your part.” The blooper was that she kept saying role instead of part and Dan was obnoxiously barking at her to say it correctly. You could tell the more she said it wrong the more fed up with Dan she became. Bloopers are supposed to be funny and bring a cast closer together and show all the cool antics everyone gets up to behind the scenes. These are just painful to watch.

Fresh Prince is the only show I've seen that has clip shows that still make me laugh (and the framing devices are usually clever, too, like a wedding vows renewal or a bachelor party...er, being trapped in an elevator en route to a bachelor party). Hell, the first season contains a clip show, but it works because firstly, it was the first part of a two-part story (the second part didn't contain clips), and a couple of the clips included never actually happened.

somehow i have a feeling that the actual funny bloopers they could have had would probably have things that most kids aren't supposed to hear. Cause really outside of the studio, Jeanette McCurdy and Arianna Grande have to cuss at least once or twice in their life (the former possibly more than the latter), practically everyone swears nowadays and seriously the actor who plays goomer definitely had to be one who would say stuff like that too. that's probably why most of the bloopers on this clip show thing weren't funny, cause they may have been the only kid safe ones that's just my theory about this. They probably did have better blooper content, but foul language probably got in the way, and having to bleep it out would probably be too much work for these guys in the production, since it did seem rather lazy from your account.

I’m pretty sure the reason there aren’t many funny bloopers was because the show was awful to work on, the shoot times were 17 hours long due to Dan not being allowed on set, Ariana had to miss shoot days to do her music career, Jennette was absolutely miserable during her time on it.

Power Rangers Dino Charge had a surprisingly good clip show episode. I forget the entire plot, but the premise was that these alien judges came to earth in order to sue the Rangers for harrasment towards their kind. The Rangers scoffed at this, but then they played clips of the Rangers destroying various aliens and the court room ordered them to be executed or something They did another one where a few Rangers dressed as ghosts for Halloween, while an alien who can shapeshift turned itself into one of those ghost to throw off the Rangers. Somehow clips were involved to tell who was the real one. It wasn't as clever but I appreciated that they tried to tell a story around clipshows.

I hate it when shows (or other media) directly come up to your doorstep and say that the show you are watching or some other show you watch IS JUST A SHOW. Here's the thing: All media requires some sort of immersion. It requires you to think that the things in the show are actually happening to the characters. If you remind your audience that it's just a show and the whole universe is fake, it makes you feel less of an impact on that universe. Because during that time, it feels like there is no universe. The only time I've ever seen it done well was in the Metal Gear Solid games, where the characters reference certain things outside the fourth wall, but that worked because it was the CHARACTERS that did that, not any sort of ACTORS. All it added was a layer of depth that told you that the characters in this universe know that something else is going on. Not just flat-out saying: "HEY, DID YOU KNOW THIS IS JUST A GAME?"

Well 40 episodes isn't a good excuse for the actors to rush, because the first iCarly blooper episode was good, and the second (production) season had 45 episodes, and they still had time to goof around.

I am fully convinced that Nickelodeon knows exactly what sh*t they're doing to their shows and just don't care at all. And honestly, neither should I. I will never come back to Nickelodeon. Even if they make a miraculous comeback and make great shows again somehow, what they've done before won't excuse it.
