Mark Hamill is apparently a big fan of Rik and Ade. When he was filming Star Wars Episode VIII a few years ago, he was taking a break on the treadmill and this episode came on. He said the part where Eddie lights Richie's bollocks on fire made him laugh so hard he fell off the treadmill! 🤣

That’s great! I’d love to know what any other big names in Hollywood have to say about Rik and Ade. I’ve had a people mention one or two of examples and it’s clear that Rik had a bit of a celebrity fan club going!

According to Rik’s IMDb page, he was asked to audition for the role of Timon in the Lion King by Tim Rice who got the idea of for Hakuna Matata from watching Bottom. The show was also an inspiration for Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt Head

Mark hamill liked bottom. Interesting, maybe this inspired him while he was being the joker 😄

Fantastic reaction! Sooooo glad someone else has found this glorious comedy as funny as I do. Bottom is my go to happy place. No matter how crap life gets, there's always Rik & Ade in Bottom.

That is absolutely the impression I get from this and have from probably the 2nd episode, that it’s gonna become one of those shows that I’ll turn to when I NEED to laugh. Rik could’ve got a laugh at the queen’s funeral! He is amazing and it genuinely saddens me to think he’s no longer around. It wouldn’t surprise me if he’d have actively acknowledged the reaction community watching his stuff and responded to them in some way! As I remember someone saying about him: “He LOVED people!” ❤️🙏🏻

@@YorkshiremanReacts26 I had the delight of seeing Rik live in a touring performance of The New Statesman. I was laughing like a fool and couldn't stop, he briefly broke character, locked eyes with me and gave me one of his looks, then slowly lowered his hand to his groin letting me know he enjoyed making me laugh and that it massaged his ego. It was a special moment that made the audience laugh more. I will cherish that moment. He got a standing ovation from the audience that day. Only Rik could have got away with that. Yes, he did interact with people and loved being loved.

I wonder if God would willing to trade Rik Mayall and George Carlin for James Corden and Howard Stern
@YorkshiremanReacts268 ай бұрын
I don’t really have a preference on Carlin, for me my swap deal would be Rik and Robin (Williams). And I know he’s not dead; but I’d also gladly swap a third just to bring Lee Evans out of retirement!
Based on laughs, bottom wins for me too. Filthy Rich and Catflap is an underated classic😂
@YorkshiremanReacts268 ай бұрын
That’s the exact basis for my reasoning, on the sheer amount of times that this has made me laugh alone it is just the best. It makes me so mad that I shunned this show for years based on nothing of value at all, just the POSTER. The poster put me off. I’m a judgemental moron who missed out on discovering the funniest comedic double act I’d ever seen. 🤦🏻♂️

Infectiously joyous reaction, as always, good sir 👏 There's too much pure gold in this episode. 'Eng, Hist, Geog, Chem, Phys, Bilg, Lat, Frrrr and Gym.' I used to think, "What's furrrrr and who's Jim?" 😂 'Hitler. Hammersmith.' 'Dick head? I said, that's me.' 'Are you calling a liar? No I'm calling you a tosser.' I probably say 'Steep?! It's effing vertical!' at least once a week in various contexts 😂 Also, I used to chew up polo mints as a kid and occasionally spit them out in pieces to emulate Ade 😂 On a random note, I especially enjoyed how Ritchie isn't the odd one out in this episode...him, Eddie, Spudgun and Dave Hedgehog all seem like a proper friend group for one brief, shining moment in that pub 😂 Having said that, I do love when the other 3 take the piss out of him and treat him like a nagging wife/ mental patient 😂

Thank you very much! There’s a lifetimes worth of great quotes from this show. I certainly will be nicking a few for myself! Polos? I’d have used Tictacs because they sound very similar to teeth when they fall On a hard surface! Yes it was rare! I love that they treat Richie like he’s a annoying nagging wife! 🤣

You should put a poll out who should be added to the death list so we can bring the greatest pan global, phenomenon the man the myth the legend that is Rik Mayall (unsurprisingly his own words 🤣🤣)
