Depending on how cheesy you consider it, the warding bond rings in act 2 are effectively 50% damage reduction without another party member by leaving the partner at camp. They can die, but hirelings are expendable. The partner also benefits from resistances, so you can get 3 layers of 50% dr

If you put the warding bond ring on gale, he will actually heal himself in camp automatically since it’s crucial he doesn’t die. Granted, since gale isn’t in this run, hirelings would be the way to go

Fun fact for the construct fight with Bernard, if you place a sussar flower by the constructs [not counting Bernard], it incapacitates them fully - no action, no movement, no nothing lmao

@@Xxproject115 Never happened to me. It will revert back to the last time the game was saved - either auto-saved or quick-saved. F5 still works in Honour-mode - only F8 is disabled. I must've have cheezed it like that at least a dozen times by now - guess I'm unlucky when it comes to the game glitching out on me.

no I mean like I was in honor mode testing what did and did not get auto-saved, and I tried it a few times a few different ways and the only method that consistently worked was hard turning off my PC. It happened like 3 separate times where crashing the game with the task manager did not prevent it from saving progress at the moment of the crash. you can just cheese the entire Grym fight by using a summon to start the fight or a companion as you can just stay up at the top and just hit the valve with your bow when ever you need to re heat grym and if the lava mephits fly up using a scroll of thunder wave or gust of wind to push them to their death do note that i haven't reached grym in my honour mode playthroughs yet due to a severe skill issue on my behave so it might not work due to honour mode my apologies if it doesn't work edit:(🤓) it does work in honour mode

You need someone who can actually hit the valve though I did this fight on honour mode like a week ago (I'm at the end of act 3 now) and i wasn't in range to hit it with anyone so i had to keep sacrificing companions and sending them down so i barely won the fight (20hp last party member, spider matriarch left me at 1hp with last party member though) im not sure what actually changes the range you get on bows but i clearly didn't have it because i was running two heavy melee martial classes, a bard support and warlock damage caster so maybe it was my partys lack of dexterity or maybe i should've just brought a sorcerer or ranger

I put all companions on top of the ladders in the forge, and none could hit the switch. There is a giant construction above the forge that blocks the trajectory. Probably skill issue tho, and none of my PCs used a bow, only spears. And yeah, the throw mechanics are notoriously iffy

In the Underdark there is Sussur blooms near Sussur tree, which have ability to annul any magic near it, include MAGIC ARMOR in Arcane tower: by just placing Sussur blooms near constructs, they will be disabled, and do absolutely nothing. Enjoy!

Ive been playing an armor of agathyst fae warlock /tempest cleric 1/1 barbarin "please hit me" build. With AoA and and the tempest reaction zap, plus wet, you can end up doing alot of damage when hit, and rage wont break either ability so you can still rage! Pact of the blade works with rages as well so you still get a bonus to damage, so dont lose anything from not being a strength based striker. Maybe give it a try if your looking for interesting ways to weaponize being attacked

Fun fact about the spider matriarch, her legendary action won't trigger if you kill the spiderlings indirectly. I did it by throwing an alchemist's fire at them. The fire terrain isn't technically you, so she doesn't attack. Darkness also blocks the legendary action.

Best of luck with your challenge. I am currently hardstuck against Myrkul in my solo honor. He really is the hardest boss in the game, puts the rest of the bosses to shame. Owlbear and netherbrain aren't anything to laugh at in honor but he is the nightmare for a solo run. I am trying to resort to not using barrel cheese or globe of invulnerability, but I really don't know what to do.

11:20 No need to reset/switch off your PC. Simply hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to open task manager and end bg3.exe while in there. You'll see "saving" flash on screen briefly before Windows kills the game, but there doesn't seem to be enough time to actually overwrite your save-game. I had to resort to this sort of cheeze on a couple of occasions during my Honour-run because of glitches in the game. Like getting stuck in perpetual dialogue-mode when opening the final flesh-door leading to the Ketheric/Myrkul-fight.

Nice thing that I did not know about is that you could "prep shoot" the webs, so they are on low hp. A tip from me is that you can eliminate all the eggs without initiating combat (the boots you find in the cave sure help with that so you do not get enwebbed).

The bear barbarian is really good at tanking damage, but if I remember correctly, you can get a huge amount of temporary hit points from bonus action dash with the stallion route. This however was in my Wildheart Barb/Thief Rogue build pumping 16 Dex and 16 Con with the rest in 14 Str. I ran a rapier and a shield for the AC which wouldn't work for this challenge, but the damage and survivability were insane.

Btw, idk if this is a known thing or whatever but in my honor mode run I managed to kill ethel before she runs downstairs by forcing her to fight out in her balcony. I think it prevented her from using break illusion and teleporting away. It also makes it so she doesn’t have her legendary ability since that’s technically not her boss fight

Its crazy seeing all the fights I missed on my first playthrough, I thought you wither had to choose the Mountain Path or the Underdark as the oath to act 2. Chose Underdark and Grymforge and never even checked out the Pass. Probably went into Act 2 a little underlevelled for Tactician, but everything worked out and still naxed out early in Act 3. Definetely not gonna miss out on this next run

Just an fyi, you can activate any lever in the game by shooting it with an arrow. You can do this with both the hammer lever and the lava spout in the forge. That way you dont have to use so many speed potions.

If you ever find yourself in a scenario where your character is bugged or the game breaks in any way, opening task manager and ending the game through that considers it a “crash” and it’ll load your last save- so you don’t have to shut off ur pc :)

You coulda got alot of mileage out of Armor of Agathys if you managed to sneak it in somehow (maybe in place of great weapon master, you take warlock initiate?) Since you're rarely taking any real damage, every time they hit for 0 they'd also take 5 damage. Plus i think as long as you keep up the temp hit points (with the barbarian dash thing) you'd be able to keep it up almost permanently.

If you multiclass into thief rogue, youll be able to dash with a bonus action to gain 12 or more hp with stallion aspect. If you continue with it you can again half all incoming damage.
