Bought Heated Cat House for my Outdoor Cat 🐈

Heated Cat House for Outdoor Cats is an excellent solution for outdoor cats. We recently were honored to welcome our "outdoor cat," who showed up at our door a few weeks ago. He chose our house, and he stayed with us. We can't have another indoor cat, but we ensured he would have a happy, cozy, loving life. One thing we decided to get for him is the outdoor heated house. It's so comfy and waterproof. He likes it so far. When it gets warmer, he goes to his outdoor regular bed, which Fred ( the kitten) donated to Berry. Being the cheapskate that I am, I kitted out a waterproof plastic cat toilet cabin with a fleecy cat blanket that she snuggles up in when she feels the need to spend time out in the garden birdwatching and communing with nature.At first she wouldn't go in it, but when I raised it about a foot off the ground she immediately jumped in and made it her own.

Yes, I think so too... I think sb kicked him out of the house.... and he showed up at our door.... We have 3 indoor cats and a new kitten now, and we really can't take him in, but we do a lot for him to make sure he is happy for now. Soon, taking him to the vet, etc. We will go from there. Also, I was looking for a new loving family for him, but for now, no luck.... He is adorable!

I have 12 cats inside my parents house and it took a while but the strays we took in are the other cats family now too. I've never went to the aspca or shelters to adopt because there is so many strays, they always come to me anyways. I have either kept them or taken them to the shelter and plan on it again. The one we took in was an adult and hid under the bed for the first 6 months because of ours tryin to beat her up. But she finally was brave enough to come out. Now they all live happily together. I hope this one found a home or is in a shelter where he can get everything he needs. 4 of 7 of my cats were strays. 3 were born there. They are all fixed now.

I think it's great you guys are looking after your cat & are concerned for his comfort & safety. That's awesome! That said, I would be hesitant pitching this shelter in the backyard DIRECTLY exposed to the elements. In fact, I don't think they really intend for this to be used directly out in the elements since the shelter isn't high enough off the ground to avoid a lot of rain splatter/pooling. And the shelter's roof is a simple FLAT BOX with no eaves to prevent water pooling on the roof... or to keep rain runoff from entering through the side door as it runs down the sides. I'm sure the canvas material is treated with some type of waterproofing, but that only goes so far. Instead I think this house is really intended to be using UNDER some type of outdoor structure that provides some direct protection from rain... like a covered carport, a covered deck, an unheated garage, a tin tool shed, a firewood shed, etc... Just consider it. Thx for the cat content.

We have one on a mat on our porch. They do have elevated ones, if ya care. Only issue, with strong winds I am not sure they'll stay put so we secure with a flat type slate. TY for being kitty care ppl too! (BTW, cute fella there, he looks like neutering time.)

I've had a feral for about 11 years, she is getting old so I built her a small home with heat. took a while to convince her of going inside but appears to like it now during the small cold spells we have. it's in the 50s, upper 40s but that's cold for us. when it's cold she goes under my truck for warmth.

It should not be directly on the ground. Put it on a skid or something like that. Lots of rain and snowfall will interfere with the warmth and create dampness against the walls and floor of the cat house. Thanks for doing this.

Just subscribed to your channel! I'm considering buying one or two of these since I have two outdoor kitties that adopted us. I couldn't help but giggle because of knowing how cats can be, I was just waiting for him to crawl into the cardboard box it came in and then claiming it to be his new home instead LOL!

You don't do something about those testicles and you're gonna need about 100 more shelters. He seems very sweet and likely the result of abandonment from a 'free kitty' person. Sad. See if a local rescue will let you foster him in exchange for their adoption efforts. Thanks for making him comfortable.

I understand your concern about the situation with the testicles:) And you are 100% right! Unfortunately, where we live, we had to wait a good while for a vet visit as a new patient:( But the day came!!!! This weekend, we are taking him to the vet for shots, vaccinations, check up etc., and to schedule his surgery. We believe it is necessary to have him fixed, whether we will keep him as our indoor cat or he will be our outdoor cat. Unfortunately, he seems to have been abandoned by someone:( This is a sad situation. Thank you for your advice and comment. We will see how the life will go on. Maybe one day, I will be able to proudly post a blog with good news, announcing he has been accepted by his new cat family inside our house;)

Cats originated in Africa. However many are adapted to live in extreme cold. The Maine Coon and Norwegian Forest cat are fine outdoors in winter. They just need a lot of food. I had a regular orange tabby that grew a tremendous winter coat, and he was fine outside too. He looked like he doubled in size during winter. I always used cat doors and let the cat decide what to do. This does look nice as an option, so they cat stay outside more. Cats are happy outdoors. They are hunters.

Awww, thank you for your comment and kind words and for caring about your feral cats. If they found you, there must be a reason, and I am glad they have you. I know it can be sometimes overwhelming, but it is so hard to leave them and not to help, especially when it is so cold outside. The house is pretty good, the mat heats well, and it can't be too hot because the cats don't like it when it is very hot. I like this mat better than the one from the other house we bought for Berry. There is a video about the other house, Marunda house, you may wanna see. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3iVkqB_iblma7s The greenhouse is insulated well, which I like, but I disagree that it is completely waterproof. Once, it was raining heavily, and the water got in between the insulation. So the best solution would be to put the green house under something. However, I may like the green one, but Berry likes the Marunda house the most. He really loves to be there. A few days ago, I put a heater next to the Marunda house - the entrance blowing gently warm air. If you have this possibility, they also sell some heaters for animals that are very safe, etc., and it makes a huge difference. I used a regular small heater, fireproof, and it turns off in case it fell or sth. Marudna house is not too big, so the problem would be that three cats won't fit into one XL Marunda House - there is no way. The Green house seems bigger to me. I'm also waiting for another house I bought, and I will be doing a review soon; it is a "wooden house" - Rockever Outdoor Cat House, 2 Story Outdoor Houses for Feral Cats. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S8QHZXP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 They have sizes that would easily fit 3 cats. Thank you both for looking out for this angel 🥺 I have three angels living in the backyard and we are coming down with very cold weather. I have bought this outdoor house but I’m not sure how to turn it on? Should it come in as soon as it is plugged in? The kitties are still using it regardless which I am very happy that they have found SOME refuge from the cold. But how nice would it be if it would heat up? Great question, so I need to say that this one is pretty warm! I would say it really heats up the house. We have the other heated house, there is a video about it, it's a cute house, beautiful etc..but the pad is not as warm as this one. The only thing is that I wouldn't say that this house is completely waterproof.... when it rains heavily, the water gets in between the isolation.... but it would have to rain reallllly bad. Hope it helps.

YES, he will be neutered, and we will do his bloodwork, vaccines, etc. Very soon, he has his vet visit. He is not an outside cat - that is correct. Some evil person left this cat in front of our house. We have 3 indoor cats (one is a small kitten), and we can't have Berry right now at home. But he has a good life compared to what he had. I just wish this brand considered predators and it had two doors for escaping. I would recommend against trapping an animal in this.
