Yeah and it takes forever from a tape because you first have to rewind :) Just played this game last weekend on my 30 years old C64 loaded from a tape. This game still has a great feeling to it.

I used to play this game for hours and hours on my neighbour's Atari 800XL and later on my C64. My favourite cave was definitely M... In 2016 I released my homage to Boulder Dash/Emerald Mine on STEAM: Get The Gems Earlier this week, I released a major update. Get The Gems RELOADED has been reprogrammed from scratch in an up-to-date language and improved in every way. As a bonus, all the caves have either been reworked or replaced. There is also a cave that might remind you of Cave M :D If you feel like being crushed by boulders and reliving your childhood, I dare you to try it :) Just search the Steam store for 'Get The Gems' Happy Spelunking!

Fantastic game and always loved the music. The C64 was totally awesome. More memories for me than the Amiga ever had. They need to make a portable C64 with games pre-loaded. I would buy one.

Ahh I remember the first time I played this game. My dad had a Commodore 64 and it had Boulder Dash. The minute I heard the theme music, oh MAN I was hookied. Dad still has his C64. Just an amazing game. And its almost 30 years old too

Ah, I had this on cassette and I'd turn up the volume while it was loading so that I could hear it when it was ready to play. Did the same thing for Shamus, too, though this is a much better game IMO. Good times! Master of the Lamps, Toy Bizarre, Trolls and Tribulations. Memories!
