Bounce has a good plan in place, if I may extrapolate from Shumi sir's assessment; we will be offered at least 3 variations of the EV with most of the commonly requested features be it connectivity or safety. Interesting to see companies taking a mango man approach to the aftersales part of the EV (cough, cough lookin' at you Ather). I feel if implemented correctly this battery swap policy will be the shot in the arm for the fledging 2 wheeler EV market. Bounce as has gotten the ball rolling in the right direction for the consumers - have to see if the other major players in the EV space get on-board; inertia at rest not withstanding :).

You forget the 850 monthly charge. It is equivalent to Rs35k for 4 years at 8%, so you are paying a lot for this bike without the battery. At the end of 4 years you don't own a battery so must pay forever. It's not really a good deal as it's rs35 for a battery you can charge at home for rs4

If you drive aggressively, range would be 50ish, paying 35/- for 50km is not cheap in EV standards. Also, over the time li-ion batteries degrade and then for 35/-, you get even lesser range. And subscription amount:l Normally 20/- electricity gives 50km range (easily)
@evthink2 жыл бұрын
As per their claim, it costs 65 paise or Rs 0.65 per km to use the battery swapping option. This is useful for people who use a lot of range and don't have time for charging. Also the battery types can be updated to new chemistry, higher power/range and lower weight later by bounce. You don't need to worry about Battery warranty or degradation. Bounce should be checking and replacing degraded batteries.

The subscription system should to be planned well. I think Bounce is targeting for rental business and might work for them if they expand to every city in India. But the catch is in Bangalore Bounce scooters are prone to abuse by the users. Additionally Bounce was having fragile TVS Pep petrol versions. If Bounce is going to replace the fragile pep with this fragile e-version, I am quite sure the cost will be on the consumer eventually. May be bounce might have no way to deal with damages of rental scooters and they built a cheaper version for there business model. One thing is sure, number of Bounce Infinity E1 bought for personal use will be way less than the Infinity E1 used for rental purpose.

Center-stand is very important. It keeps the engine horizontal, so the oil always stays level, and you know how important having level oil is! It also keeps fuel level, and that way your vehicle starts very easily. Also the brakes need to be always vertical. E.g. when you lean to one side, you can feel yourself falling. That's because the brakes are not vertical anymore. A center stand is at the center of vehicle and keep the vehicle in sync with the earth's gravity thus increasing vehicle longevity. When you regularly use center-stand, you will observe your vehicle rusts less, nuts and bolts stay tight, and the air in tyres does not deplete as easily. Hence proved! Cheers!

So, 45k for scooter + 57k for battery swapping subscribtion + 850 per month + 35 every battery swap. So if your daily commute is 50 kms, for 26 days you will need 26 swaps (50km range) which will cost 910 bucks + 850 = 1760 at minimum. Not sure if the economics work in consumers favor. i still dont know, why these brands don't look at east, bro i m from burdwan(90km from kolkata towards delhi a tier-B city). These Brands should look for us 🙂. Otherwise my R15 2014 edition is still better than these, because grapes are sour. 🙂🙂

if a buyer buys with a battery swap option, what would stop the user from charging it at home ?

Let's consider as they say swaping station in every 1km range... Banglore is 761sqkm... Let's consider this is only for crowded region.. say 1/3 of the total area.. means 250sqkm.. almost 250 switching stations.. let's consider they smartly manage it.. and keep swaping station on an avg 1.5-2km away from each other.. that's around 120+ swaping station in 1 city.. each station has 4-9 batteries.. around 500-600 batteries.. that's huge upfront investment for 1 city.. what will happen for pan India say 20 major cities in india... So swaping station will be use full for few. But just gimmik for others..

Well of there are only 600 batteries in Bangalore, and everyone needs 1 battery per day and it takes 6 hours to charge then that's about 2400 bikes on Bangalore and you have a big problem. No charged battery when you pay rs35, and maybe one with a half charge. Bounce has a pretty bad name for maintenance and customer support with it is rental fleet, so this looks like it may be an issue. Otherwise, it's a greatl idea

@@barryobrien1890 yeah exactly.. nice idea but not usefull till 3-4 different brands have similar battery pack and decide to open there own battry station.. nAlso not just that 35 rupees people would be paying subscription charges that's 850+ per month when you don't even have batteries available in battery swap stations in your region...

@@Abhizit yes. My other concern is you pay rs35 for a battery swap, but unless there are a lot of swap stations nearby, you will be forced to swap a half full battery to get enough range to go home and back. This means it's loosing its value against say an Ola or boom Corbet, which you can charge at home or work. They will end up being cheaper in a year or so of average use
