Great explanation. However, a pretty complex maintenance. Kudos to you, mate. I own 14' gt myself and after 65k miles i started to hear hydraulic lifters / rocker arms rattle on cold start. Thinking they aren't having enough lubrication. Do you think this is something to do with oil pump being worn out? Running 5w-20 oil with it and have no CEL since the day i own it.

Thanks for watching! The noise you are hearing is more than likely your cam phasers. They have no oil upon startup and run dry(causing damage to themselves) and eventually make that rattling noise. You can google Ford cam phaser noise for more info:)

Hey did you reuse all hardware? Except for the crank bolt of course. Did you replace any gaskets? How many miles are on your car? Has there been any issues since u installed it? Thanks in advance good video

I reused the hardware for everything expect the crank bolt, I bought the aftermarket ARP bolt. You reseal the timing cover with gasket maker(sealant) in certain spots(see video). Miles should be around 80-90k miles(I do not remember exactly since I do not daily it). I have been to three drift events this year and I have not had any issues relating to the installation of the OPG. Thanks for watching! Hope this video helped you out:)

Anybody doing this on gen 1, i have a very very thorough video in the works right now! Give my channel a sub so you can catch it. I'm doing CS/OPG, KINETIK CRANKSAVER STUD, and a ROUSH 2.3 PHASE 2 blower kit. The most time consuming part of these installs is doing the research on how exactly to do everything. I've filmed EVERYTHING down to the last detail with everything I've found. Like on this video, the young man did a great job, but left out alot I'm assuming for time and because it's such a hassle to film 😂 like how exactly to use the crank puller/install tools and exactly which ones to use. How to prime the oil system on this motor BEFORE startup which is critical. He also did not return the crank to the 9 o clock position when removing the drivers side timing which is why it snapped back at him so hard. Another thing: you HAVE to clean that crank snout out to the best of your ability. It's extremely imperative you do that properly. I'm covering all that to adnausem. It is extremely tedious trying to get all this stuff filmed and I'm not looking forward to editing it all. BUT it needs to be done, someone's gotta do it so why not me? It will be a completely comprehensive approach to this job from beginning to end with every single stupid question I had, all the hours and hours and hours of sifting through the internet to find the answers. All of it is going to get covered. If I can do this job YOU can definitely do it! Save yourself a bunch of money, empower yourself by learning how, and gain that ultimate sense of pride by saying you did it all yourself! Good luck ladies and gents, and huge shout out to you Tristan, you helped me out more than you know, even with seeing how to not do some things(very minor) it was all just incredibly helpful, so thank you!!!

Hey man! I appreciate the comment:) yes this was my first time and I probably did leave some information out that I should have included. It took me about twice as long since I was recording and wanted to make sure I covered as much as I could. I wanted to make a video that showed a more in depth install because some videos I watched skipped over some crucial parts. Like you said if I can do it, anyone with some knowledge of turning wrenches can do it. Definitely have to double check things to make sure you don’t mess the motor up lol. Once timing jumped on me I had to reset it but it was no issue at all. I have drifted the car at a few events now with no problems so all is good! You can checkout my instagram page @tristanpaschal if you care to see a video of it sliding! Good luck with installing yours and thanks for watching:))
