So happy to see Ruby Rose still at number one for you. When I checked it out back when you posted your initial video, I was initially overwhelmed at the pure amount of "hey I know that song" and it honestly made it hard for me to really process the record. But throughout the year, I gave it time and more listens, and the overall structures of the record revealed themselves to me and the identity of cacola's world blossomed into something fully new and beautiful. I don't think it's fair to look at a mosaic by examining every individual piece, and similarly I feel this record is so much more than the sum of its parts. While it wasn't my personal record of the year, it was darn close, and I'm so happy to have discovered it. Also I'm super excited to check out most normal and broken gargoyles, been looking for more interesting stuff. I've been listening to a new album every day this January to write an article on the experience, and these will make great additions to that list. Thanks for a great year of videos my guy, I can't wait to see what you do going forward. I'd love to see more of that random album recommendation series.

this year was great for hip hop as mf earl btb conway mike denzel boldy ka and especially billy woods and cities aviv (imo having 2 of his best albums released this year (not including tamikas lodge released from one of his aliases which is one of his most unique productions yet)) have been so rewarding and insanely hard to beat

The Work Which Transforms God is an amazing album! I’ve always preferred the debut Ultima Thuleé though. I’ll probably get TWWTG on vinyl soon since it’s like $24 on Amazon with the better album cover. I wasn’t a big fan of last year’s Blut Aus Nord release.

Your Ruby Rose video was my introduction to both you, and Cacola, and since then Cacola has been one of if not my favourite musicians of all time, with both Ruby Rose and Amy Rose being soundtracks to mine and my GFs lives. Thank you.
