Wow, I thought you handicapped ECBP by picking that batch. I think you need to follow this up with a Stagg Jr. vs ECBP flight. Three different batches of Stagg Jr (9, 12, 13?) vs three batches of ECBP (C918, A120, B520?) for the ultimate showdown to cap off this series.

Great Blind! A119 continually does well in blinds with a small group of bourbon drinkers in my area. It has beaten C919, A120, Stagg 12 & 13, and finally lost to George T Stagg 2017, but was real close. We also enjoy the OF 1920 (great bourbon that is always on the shelf!).

Hey Chris! This was such a great series! I usually watch these videos while "drinking with you" (drinking what you're drinking). Today, I finally pulled the trigger and bought the Booker's 2020-01, so I drank what you were drinking PLUS the booker's 2020-01. I gotta admit, the Booker's is better than almost ALL of these 4, with its apple pie sweetness! But really..who cares? ECBP is PHENOMENAL!!! And it's so affordable. You rock!

How do you know if the Knob Creek is even barrel proof? It’s called single barrel reserve but says it’s a Kentucky straight whiskey and is a small batch. So is it just more selective barrels and not watered down as much? Or is there any cutting at all? I’m so confused.

First off, this dude is good at reviews. His style is on-point to say the least. High production value, too, plus I love the tournament and the way he keeps it blind. I'm entertained by watching whiskey reviews because it always reminds me of the power of mind suggestion. "Candy-coated cherry, but not chocolate covered," for example. But, I am not as experienced in it. I just like seeing people who taste a lot describe these. To me, they might as well say "it has a nice deep, rich note of candy corns, but not the kind you'd buy from Walmart. Front of the pallet is more of a cotton candy note, the kind that you'd get at a fair any elementary school's PTA fundraiser ... " I will learn more in time, I'm sure, but I hope I never forget it is vodka aged in burnt barrels. To bring up cherries versus chocolate covered cherries is funny to me, but that's why I'm here, watching. I always thought it felt like reviewers are just making shit up. Kind of like all of the videos describing colognes. It is good for entertainment, though, no doubt and this guy is pretty chill and has a great style. One thing I wonder is when you know you are down to testing 4 great and expensive bourbons, what would happen if someone on the set had slipped in a bottom shelf $13 bourbon? Would the host be able to know that, or would the power of the mind make him rave about it. BTW, there is nothing wrong with that, if so! In fact, it would prove to me that all life, is what we make of it! Here is a guy really enjoying his passion for a spirit and I find that pretty cool. If you could get that pleasure out of a $13 bottle, that would be even cooler! Ha!

Dude...you have (obviously) not watched enough and tried some of the Bourbons he likes.
@Bourbinsane4 жыл бұрын
You apparently have never watched my reviews... I never call out insane notes like some of the other "whiskey experts" in the industry (wont name names). I just call out what I am tasting and smelling. And there is absolutely a difference between chocolate covered cherry (old forester 1920) and an almost candied cherry (makers mark). indisputable different types of cherry notes. Just what I taste in them, you may taste somethigncomletly.doffeent and that's fine. Either way appreciate you checking it out! Cheers brother!🥃

@@Bourbinsane I may find all tasting kind of funny, I guess. Thanks for not taking it personally. Your not taking it personally is why your channel is so good. You are just doing your thing and following your passion. Watching you taste these, and the way you are doing the tournament, INSANELY ENJOYABLE. It's entertainment and your production value is really high. Subscribing. Probably in time, I will come to taste these and I may sense what you are. No doubt you have the experience over me.
