Metal / rock fans' first time reaction to LeAnn Rimes' performance of "Blue" while checking out some McFarlane Reserve Four Grain

She was 13 when this was released. Its crazy how good she was at that age.
@thegroovetube32474 ай бұрын
Yes, but remarkably it was recorded when she was 11. There's an interview with her on You Tube where she explains that she recorded it as an 11 year-old, it was re-recorded for release as a single when she was 13 - but there was a mix-up with the tapes and it was the original version which ended-up being released.

Legend has it, this song was destined for Patsy Cline and,when Patsy died, the writer sat on it. For years. Then he heard LeeAnn and thought she was worthy of it. And there you have it.

Patsy Cline did record this song with very similar vocals.

Not according to Bill Mack, who actually wrote the song, he has debunked that numerous times, including in his book.

What you guys were skating over Leanne had that power in control of her voice at the age of 13. The song was actually written for Patsy Cline but she died in a plane crash and the author kept it on his shelf until one day I can't remember if it was at a church or at some little festival or something he heard and he gave it.

Being her first hit, at 13 years old, skyrocketed her early career. She has amazing pipes still. Her vocals on The Masked Singer brought her a new, younger fan base.

Now you should do her live version of "Unchained Melody" when she was 14 years old. LeAnn is amazing. You can hear her sing several songs if you watch her video from her time on The Masked Singer. She was the Sun and she won that year.

My wife and I were at a mall in southwest Ft Worth and we heard this huge voice start singing. Walked half the length of the mall to see who was singing and it was this little girl about 10. Waited around until we could ask her name. Unreal hearing such a young child with her voice.

LeAnn Rimes was raised and got her start in Texas! So I believe the shots were they was swimming, was in New Braunfels Texas. A big designation for tubing down the river! Most people compare Leanne to Patsy Cline! To me her career, is were her it should have been with that voice! She should be bigger than Taylor Swift by far! I would not even be able to tell you a Taylor Swift song. But as soon as I hear Leanne sing. I know exactly who it is!!

Her mother, Patsy Cline, would be so proud [just kidding of course since they’re not related]! LeeAnn also won, one of the recent seasons of “The Masked Singer”…as did Jewel…two superb vocal talents proving their vocal chops, competitively the hard way…winning on their talents and not their looks and reputations.

She was on Star Search when she was eight. I think 13 when she had her first hit. She was the first to record "How Do I Live" for the movie Con Air but someone at the studio decided that having a teen sing the main song for rated R movie was not appropriate. Trisha Yearwood ended up singing it and she did an amazing job as well. They even sang it together at one point for an awards show or something. I suggest the song for both women. For LeeAnn - “One Way Ticket”, she slays “You Light Up My Life” and her cover of "Crazy" will blow you away. "Probably Wouldn’t Be This Way" is another great one. I'm pretty sure she could sing the phone book and make it remarkable. And sorry, but you can't be a true Kardashian until you have a bad spray tan and more plastic parts than Barbie. :-)

I love that yodel aspect. Hank Williams Sr did it a lot in his songs too. It annoys me that I haven't really noticed it being present in country music in the past 20 years. I think if anyone today can properly incorporate it in their songs, I think they would become a big success. Because I think most people love it, and it's not really present anymore, so you'd stick out like a diamond in the dirt.

I like it used sparingly like she did in this performance. Another thing that drives me wild is a good Irish trill, which is similar to a yodel. - Keith

@@BourbonCountryReacts This isn't related to horny toads or music but, records are involved. I thought you'd be interested in the subject, It follows. " The sharpest of Marines has died, just a few years after he told his life story in a book that revealed his career as a Marine Corps Vietnam Vet. Charles Mawhinney, known as “Chuck,” died in Oregon on February 12th at 75 years of age " He was the best of the best and received all of the decorations a man's uniform could carry. Look the details up on Chuck & Gary. My time in service was Army Engineers and I have a local hero too. His name is M.Sgt. Gary Gordon born in Lincoln Maine, he and Chuck Mawhinney were qualified in the same job among others. I use the Veterans center bearing his name for my disability needs. My issues don't compare, chemicals & asbestos got me. He and others in his unit were the Delta Force team portrayed in the Battle of Mogadishu. He was Gordie in the film. They pissed the Somali's off to the max, read the story and lists! Both are examples of America's Best Keith.

Don't know much about him. The only CMH recipient I was ever close to was Hershel "Woody" Williams. Woody was one hell of a Marine, and one hell of a good guy. When he died a couple of years ago, me and a buddy (army) drove from Indianapolis to Charleston, WV to pay our respects as he laid in state at the Capitol. They had him in the rotunda with a 24 hour USMC guard. My buddy and I stood to the side and watched the procession of people passing. As we stood there, this guy who looked WWII aged, and wearing a USMC ballcap was pushed up to the casket in his wheel chair. It took that old man a solid 20 seconds to stand from that wheelchair and render a salute to Woody. You could have heard a pin drop in that whole capitol building. I looked at my buddy - "I'm not cryin'. You're cryin'." A scene I will never forget as long as I live. - Keith

@@BourbonCountryReacts I've never met one myself but always stop to watch the awards when given out. I assure you Chuck was one of a kind. If you want a link, I'll send it to you. I respect the heck out of anyone that was there. It would have made any man cry or at least pray. Those marines on Iwo Jima saved many other marines lives. You'd have saluted too if you were in that old marine's shoes. He may have been there! The governor of this State won the CMH in the Civil war. Remember these words, "we're out of power & shells Colonel", Chamberlain said "bayonets, charge". He was a college professor before sighing up.
