BOW PEAK Hike -- Icefields Parkway -- Alberta Bound

Here is our Hike of Bow Peak in the beautiful Icefields Parkway of Alberta. Very nice little water crossing at the start ( 1km in or so) which is very refreshing on the way out. Bring water shoes and also keep in mind that water levels can change during the day.
In this video I have tried to make the trail head info and approach as easy to follow as possible since the trail head is not an official one.
Such a stunning hike even with a bit of smoke from the BC forest fires. There is also a little bit of info in the last 30 seconds of the video regarding the trail head as well. Hopefully this helps you get out there and enjoy this stunning peak.

Great video Harlan! When I went to Banff in late June, I took your advice and hiked up Mount Jimmy Simpson. It was an incredible hike. Bow Peak will be on my list for the next time I visit :)

Lucky, I'm in banff right now and me and parents hiked to Bow Falls and from there I wanted to go to Mount Jimmy Simpson, but I couldn't because my parents aren't able to hike it.

Nice video! I was in the area two weeks ago, and tried to hike to Iceberg Lake. But the current was too strong to ford. Will try Bow Peak next time. Thanks for the instructions!

Hello, it's me again lol! Beautiful video as usual. I am now wondering if there is a way to hike to Bow Glacier falls and from there do Bow peak or are they two separate hikes? Any info appreciated I would love to do both but obviously not sure if it is even possible. Or is it the same route?

Hi Harlan, how's it going? Really enjoy your videos!! Are we allowed to bring a bear flare banger with us on our hikes? We have bear spray but I hear there are a lot of bears this year. Take care.

Canucks Lions ...Well thanks first of all! Personally I only use bear spray. You can probably bring bangers with you however most people don't use them properly and in a close encounter a banger likely isn't your best option, spray is. Bangers if deployed improperly can actually scare the best towards you not away from you.

Hi Harlan, yeah I agree with you but Im thinking now that there are a greater number of bears, maybe an extra safety device may help. It's my biggest worry on hikes, lol. I don't think there'd be too much fight if a bear came at me, cuz I'd collapse with a heart attack. I think it's best to point them up in the air eh? Incase they start another fire.
