After Malcolm McLaren screwed her over she was NEVER able to recover from that. I mean soon after the success of Do You Want To Hold Me, she was fired from the band.

They were always a “put together” band, by a producer. Those bands never stay together because they’re put together to make money. It’s not like they all grew up together and wrote these songs in their bedroom. Adam Ant’s band was lured away from Adam and they found a 13yr old girl who could sing and dress provocative. They photographed her naked for the album covers. And by the time she was 17, she was kicked out of the band without them actually telling her to her face.

I grew up in the bay area and I remember MV3 and Richard Blade! Everyday I rushed home to watch the latest new wave videos from mostly England. I was about 12-15 yrs old at the time!
