Former Queensland premier Campbell Newman says Energy Minister Chris Bowen’s latest attack on nuclear smacks of “desperation”.
Mr Bowen continues to blast the Opposition’s nuclear energy plan.
“In terms of nuclear and the things that he’s saying, it does smack of desperation,” Mr Newman told Sky News host James Macpherson.
“Australians are getting the message that the renewables rollout is actually costing them.”

I think if anyone asks a five-year old child a question on nuclear, the answer will most likely to be more intelligent compared with what we get from Labor at present.

Left leaning public servants work much slower these days, it has taken a long while for them to compile a report on what Blackout Bowen told them to say. When 30 counties around the world use nuclear power, Bowen was always going to be pushing the proverbial uphill talking about it not being good for Australia.

Labor supports gas, and this is somehow green compared to nuclear?
@ivanf6938
@ivanf6938 8 сағат бұрын
You noticed. Not fooled by the Labor Jedi mind trick? Bowens "renewable" strategy includes new gas generation out past 2050. Direct from the horses mouth. This is "decarbonisation" apparently. Duttons nuclear plan at worst case timing as quoted by Labor themselves will have zero carbon nuclear up and running 10 years beforehand. And no chance of needing gas beyond that. Which plan is greener?

Makes sense to build the stadium at Hamilton. The private sector will build it for small cost of the land. The land is currently unsused anyway! It has an avis car rental on it. So for a virtually similar coat you are getting another world class stadium which Brisbane desperately needs for postgame activities like hosting Taylor Swift. The Gabba can then be used to host other sporting events like wnrl ect...

"The CSIRO’s Gencost report advised nuclear power could be set up in Australia no sooner than 2040 and would be at least 50% more expensive than solar and wind, even factoring in the costs of transmission and firming of renewables. A theoretical 1,000MW nuclear plant built today would cost at least $8.6bn." (The Guardian)

@@TheCallo18Nor would I trust any study on nuclear done by CSIRO.
