Really appreciate you taking the time to make this video. A lot of helpful information. I'm going to look into some of those camera mounts.

Looks like awesome set up! I run a main camera and usually two second and third angle cameras. Great video on showing the gear for filming hunts and how to set up!

Thanks for taking the time to share this. My wife has a Canon Rebel T7i and I’ve been debating on documenting my hunts for a while, so I ended up buying 2 GoPros and a camera arm to use the Rebel with. This will be my first year to self-film.

@@BowOnlyOutdoors good to know. I assumed it was good enough but wasn’t sure given the varying models I’ve seen used.

@@BowOnlyOutdoorsthat’s what I’m using right now but I was wondering if the shutter sound would scared the deer if they are too close

It potentially could but I never really had any issues with that

Cool tip on how to silently operate ratchet straps. When pulling the buckle back to tighten, simultaneously hold the small clip in the center the opposite way (down). This won’t allow the teeth to bind and click over that piece of metal and will therefore be silent. Let go when you’ve pulled the buckle all the way back and the teeth will bind again. Then when you need to let the buckle forward again to tighten more, hold the two tabs that allow you to normally loosen it and let go of it just before it gets to the bottom. Hope that makes sense, If you do this it can almost be completely silent!

Wow that’s a lot of cameras! lol. As of now I’ve got my wife’s Sony A7 iii and my GoPro… occasionally I’ll film some things with my phone as well and it seems to do somewhat decent. Good advice though! I’m always looking for ways to improve.

Man that's a crazy setup! What focal length do you find yourself using when deer are inside 40 yards?

When you press the record button on your camera does the shutter sound spook the deer ?
@BowOnlyOutdoors24 күн бұрын
There is no shutter sound whatsoever when recording video with my camera. Depending on the photo mode I use, some of them have shutter noises but some do not and are also completely silent

How do you run your lav mic and external mic into the same camera? Is it an adapter with 2 female connections that go into one male connection? Are you able to separate the audio into separate channels so you can eliminate external mic noise when you want the lav mic to be more prevalent? Thanks for this detailed breakdown!
@BowOnlyOutdoors7 ай бұрын
Great question! We run an adapter like you mentioned that records one mic on the left audio channel and the other mic on the right audio channel. We then mesh them together in post so the audio is evenly distributed to both the left and right channels.
@MasterofNone3657 ай бұрын
@@BowOnlyOutdoors Ok awesome. I wondered if that was possible but haven't tried it. Do you have a recommendation on the adapter by chance? Thanks for responding!
