The side by side screen will be fine for the majority of the game. I can understand the reasoning for the layout, but it'll be just a smidge disorienting during some of the dual-screen bros moves that happen. Nothing we all can't get used to. The hype is real, I might start a personal playthrough to play along with ya Lucah. It's been YEARS since I picked up this gem. And don't worry about skipping PiT. They changed a few of the battle mechanics but they've been remedied in this game to fit back into the MLSS format.

HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THIS SOONER. Ever since you started Superstar Saga, I knew that this game was inevitable, at SOME point. Though you had Partners in Time to go through, and then WarioWare, Pokemon, and Ace Attorney, etc. begun, and the gap seemed ever greater. Yet here it is, going straight to my absolute favorite out of this series. I have to say, you are going to really enjoy this playthrough, and I think we will as well. :D

As long as you eventually play it I'm okay with skipping Partners in time for now. Don't know why most people don't like it, I honestly always saw it as the best story wise. Then again that might be because I just really like dark subject matter and well executed plot twists. Though yeah, the story does drag a bit and the bros move idea for the game is pretty dumb, so I get people disliking it.

I have a handful of things to add! -This is the easier one of the first three, but in my opinion is also the best one. Best music, best sound effects, the animation is fluid, and everyone is a cutie -The timing is a pinch more lenient than superstar saga -SAVE A TON AND RUN SUPER RARELY. Young me ran a bunch from fights and when I got to bosses I was so under leveled I never beat it. -there is some mic stuff, but most gimmicks in this game is dual screens and the touch screen. -Bowser is the cutest in this game

Hey Lucah, ~ Are you OK? Are you sure you can handle this much Bowser? ~ Eventually, you'll be asked to hold the DS sideways (touch screen on the left, I think). You should prepare a video layout for this. ~ Use that mic test to figure out how to get your mic to respond, as you'll need it a few times in this game. Specifically, practice blowing into it as long as possible on one breath. ~ There are a few references to Partners in Time in this game, but you don't need to understand the plot of that game to enjoy this one. ~ Yeah, the battle screen uses both screens on top of each other as one super-tall view. Some attacks will use that top screen, so look up if an attack goes off the top of the bottom screen. ~ Did you notice the heart with the number near everybody's action icons? You can see everyone's current HP without calling up the menu. ~ That save Emoglobin won't stick around, but don't worry, otherwise unlimited saving. ~ The thing you noticed on the save screen at around 31:40 is indeed a "quest recap", in case you forgot what you were doing last. ~ You can hit L to cancel a "Run" command if you need to (you won't get that turn back, though).

Oh, hell yes. Just what I needed to get through a brutal cold and cough session. I wouldn't consider Partners in Time to be bad, but this game beats it in every category, and you'll probably be glad you went with this one first. This game has exactly one reference to PiT in a sidequest, but that's it. No worries. Tips? The most generally important thing I can think of would be to revisit areas as both Mario/Luigi and Bowser once you are able. There are items exclusive to both in most areas. Also, make sure to try your best to grab 'Attack Pieces' to unlock special moves.

the Emoglobins that let you save in the trash pit are temporary as they disappear after a certain point in the story. i dont know why because there is no reason to go there after you are done there and they are the only ones in the game that do that and let you save

Some advice for you, Lucah: eventually, you'll be collecting Attack Pieces for special attacks for Mario and Luigi; sometimes, getting all the Attack Pieces for an attack will be optional, but I'd still take the time to collect them, since all of the special attacks are really great and fun to use. Oh, and when you start leveling up, try to not level up all your stats, so that you can be super great in certain stats. That ones really more up to you though. I've been thinking about picking up this game again recently, and I'm super excited for this LP!

Storytime!! I'm actually 13! Being born during the GameCube and GBA era, this game was my first Mario and Luigi game. It was my childhood. The game having an EXTREMELY easy difficulty, I beat it within 2 weeks! I would always go back and beat the final boss over and over. I would continue to play all of the other games in this series and adore them! Until Mario and Luigi: Dream Team was released... It wasn't following the original roots of the series and I was disappointed when Nintendo presented it. But, then Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam made a turn for the better! Since it was crossing over the Paper Mario series with the Mario and Luigi series, I started to warm back up to the Mario and Luigi games. The reason why I was joyed about the recent game was, because I also grew up with Super Paper Mario. Same story goes for the Paper Mario series. The Paper Mario series was part of my childhood and because of Super Paper Mario I started to play it all the other games in the series. The only Paper Mario games that I actually own for myself are Super Paper Mario and Paper Mario! I did get a chance to play Paper Mario: Sticker Star, but I have yet to play Color Splash or the Thousand-Year Door, since, like I said, I was born in the GameCube era. The only difference between my Mario and Luigi story and my Paper Mario story is that I didn't have hatred towards the recent games. Thank you for listening to my long story about two Nintendo series that I truly adore!! Also, really quick, I would like to bring up that I don't own Mario and Luigi: Dream Team! It's the only Mario and Luigi game that I have not bought yet

+MrTntsupreme Something similar happened to me, my DS screen wouldn't working properly so I had to constantly tilt it back and forth for it to display correctly, the colors were bluer but I still managed to beat and enjoy the game.
