One thing to note about the level-up bonus in this game (opposed to MLSS) is that when you click the button the roulette stops on that number. In SS the roll would keep ticking for a bit, but in this one it stops on the number you press on. So keep an eye on the numbers. The "Same bonus" mechanic is still around, so if you're constantly picking one then it'll get lower and lower bonuses, but then all the others will start to have higher values. This game is pretty nice that even on the first few level ups it gives +5 and +6 bonuses early on. So try to take advantage of those.

The Hammer is SO much better in this game. Most people are saying that it won't fall-- that's not entirely true, the hammer still falls, but it lasts for a _very_ long time this time around, to the point where you will probably only see that happen once or twice in the game, if at all. The hitboxes are also much clearer and the commands just work... Trust me, Superstar Saga this is not. The hammers are great.

Awesome, glad you're let's playing this! You pronounced globin right the first time, just like hemoglobin. As for normal attacking with the hammer, you can just attack as soon as it glows, I believe. That will get you the maximum damage. Keep it up Lucah! :D

I'm super excited for this! I didnt have episode 1 in my sub box, but I freaked out when I saw this appear! This is up there for my favorite game of all time! A couple tips: 1. Bowser takes up about half of the total gameplay. 2. You only really need to fight each encounter, grinding probably won't be a problem. 3. Be prepared for so many more tutorials. Don't worry Lucah, you'll figure out each of the signs, they're pretty constant and easy to tell. The thing about "The way they'll attack" is usually just where they move to stand, such as a monster like Bowser who moves back to use a big fire attack, and moves forward to punch. The left leg / right leg thing is just transplanted to left arm / right arm or left eye glowing / right eye glowing. Just about paying attention.

1) It's either globin or globin. Nobody can agree on which one is globin. 3) Yeah it's only the Paper Mario games that let you keep the attack going until you've finished. M&L doesn't exactly encourage overkill. 4) The tutorializing in this game never really ends... at least some of the tutorials aren't bad. 6) EVERYTHING HAS A TELL. Monster attack targets and patterns, your attack timings... if you can learn the tells, you'll have an easier time of things. There will be more subtle tells later on, so I would suggest watching the battles carefully when you're editing so that you can spot them. 7) Where's Ms No Arms when you need her? She wouldn't have made the Star Menu tutorial _necessary_ by bonking into Luigi... 8) No Passports for you! 10) Never noticed that there was an Owl Dialog Trick in the Star Menu tutorial... At least Partners in Time explicitly gives you a free mushroom before starting that tutorial. 12) You will have to use the stylus for some things. The game will give you a huge honkin' "Touch To Start" button when they happen. 13) Don't be afraid to use the second save data as a backup save. My copy is crash prone. 14) When leveling in the M&L games, the more you focus on one stat the less the bonuses can be. This is true virtually all the time, and it's meant to encourage sharing the love, as it were. With that said... be prepared for a lot of +1's. 15) You're in the Trash Pit. I don't really know either. 16) #NotGlobinScience 17) That elevator looks like a face. 18) The Trash Pit's attack pieces are the only ones you're required to find during the game. Attack Pieces will be specific to each region and there are always exactly ten to a group. 19) You got the middle bottom icon before leaving the Trash Pit - it's the special attacks menu. You can practice them there, feel free to do so (though feel free to practice offscreen if you want). The final icon will come a lot later. 20) You're either going to love or hate the music that was playing during the practice mode. There's no in-between, solely because of what else this music will be associated with. 21) Green Shell is heavily influenced by luck (the Stache stat) and weakly affected by strength (the POW stat). At best it gets ten hits.

AAAHHH I hit post too soon! 22) Hammers will take practice to use. At least defending with hammers doesn't penalize you for starting too soon in this game... mostly because attacks are faster. 23) Luigi does get to use hammers in the field, but it's a little ways off. 24) Always clear the room if you have the health for it, and don't hesitate to use your items to heal up. Some rooms do give you a thing for clearing them, but for the most part you just need all the XP you can get. Some of the fights get rough. 25) The numbers 2, 5, 9, and 11 do not exist.

Hey Lucah! Unlike Superstar Saga where there was only badges and pants (and very rarely the special items from the coffee shop) Inside Story has a lot more variety in equipment that you can unlock later on! Keep that in mind when buying and leveling up! And thankfully you're trying to get good with the action commands, since you'll get a system later on that gives you bonuses for being good at them! So happy you're playing through this game as it is my all time favorite series and a great memory from when I was younger.

Lucah, there is something important about level-ups bonus if I recall correctly. The more you level up the the same stat, the harder it'll be to get good bonuses. For example, you level-up the HP stat 10 levels in a row. At first the maximum stat is like 5 but at the 10th time in a row, the max is like 2-3. And the roulette of the bonus loops so it can be timed. Personally, I like the stache stat for the Scratch Card. Details are written when you level it up. Only one episode until it's *showtiiiime!* Also, this game is (imo) much harder than Superstar Saga. However, while the Bros. battles are relatively the same as SS, the *(spoilers)* add a level of difficulty. Also, the story in this game is the second best in the M&L series (after PiT), but it's much better. I guarantee you will HAVE *CHORTLES!* Now for tips! 1) When you're levelling up, try to remember exactly where the number you want is, because in this game the roulette stops as soon as you press the button, as opposed to rolling a few more numbers. 2) Don't be worried about that save thing. You can save as many times as you like. There's no limit. 3) Almost forgot this! Make sure you fight _as many enemies as you can!_ There's a store in the game that gives you better items the higher your level is, and I don't want you to have to grind on enemies later (hehe). Level up "1" roll count: 1

Attack Pieces and side quests in this game are pretty hard to miss. Most of them are right out in the open, so you won't really need to worry about having to go through a long series of events or puzzles just to get a piece or two. The map usually shows you which screen/room has any Attack Pieces in it, too.

Here is a tip I use for leveling up in this game... I *think* the longer you go without getting a bonus in a stat the more points the roulette is worth. So if you put points in a different stat every level, the potential for landing high numbers on the roulette will go up. Loving the play through, hopefully this helps with getting +1s.

you're pretty much right. The game has an "Expected" value for each stat depending on what level you are, and the roulette gets higher or lower depending on where your actual value is in relation to the "expected" value for that level

Lucah, tip for the level up wheels. If you pay attention to the number pattern, the same numbers will repeat in the same order (depending on which attribute you want to increase) so if you time it well, it can be very easy to get the higher numbers for leveling up!

Lucahjin, you have spent the entire 2 episodes in the same location - the Trash Pit. You did not actually make any progress throught the body, other than leaving the Trash Pit. But now you have a map of Bowser's Body, and trust me, you will be exploring all over the body over the course of the game

Lucah, to get one of the special attacks you have to beat an optional (mini)boss. The boss is a reference to partners in time. It's hidden somewhere in bowser's castle so keep that in mind. Also, eventually there will be quest asking you to collect balls( similar to the beanstones quest from superstar saga). You can't do all of this quest until you get all field skills ( like high jumping and the sort from superstar saga, wich does not appear in this game), take note of the quest giver says. Keep up the good work and keep practicing the attacks, you'll get used to it.

Worth mentioning, as far as the map goes, it's very situational but there is an area in bowser's body you'll want to use it as it'll help keep you from being sent back multiple times. I don't wanna say where it is cuz it'd spoil too much but you'll probably know it when you reach it.

Hey Lucah! I commented this on your last video already, so sorry if you've already seen this, but basically you should make sure you alternate the stats you choose to increase when you level up, because if you keep increasing the same stat over and over, it only increases by a little each time which makes it not worth it at all. It's more efficient to go through each stat one by one when you level up, because the longer you wait before increasing a stat since the last time, the more it increases by. Someone else might be able to explain better, but basically don't always level up the same stat, make sure you alternate!!! Oh and by the way, "globin" is in fact pronounced "glow-bin".

The reason why the green shell hit the other enemy after one went down is because it's a serial move. This means if you kill an enemy with a serial attack, the attack will continue attacking another enemy, unless the enemy that just died is the last one, which means, of course, the battle ends.

there is a point later in the game, where if you are confidant with your skills with special attacks, you can play a mini game for some pretty good items. Optional but it can help.

Your hammer won't fall if you hold it too long in defense. So if you're worried that will screw you up don't worry about it, only thing you need to worry about is timing

Hey Lucah, ~ The bonus roulette stops instantly when you hit the button, so it's actually timing-based, not luck-based. Pay close attention to the wheel! ~ Special Attacks work just like Bros. Attacks from Superstar Saga in that A) Both bros need to be able to act for the option to be available, and B) It requires SP from the bro initiating the attack. ~ There is no "Tattle" function here, or in fact anywhere in the Mario & Luigi series. ~ I dunno why, but that "WHAM" from an Excellent Hammer attack is just so satisfying. ~ As I'm sure you've noticed, the timing window for Hammer defense is a LOT more lenient than in Superstar Saga. That said, practice doing it at the last moment anyway, as some late-game enemies will go "Oh shit, a hammer!" and pause their attack if you prepare the hammer too early.
