SS34, Darton 35, and PSE 34’s are my choices this year. Normally from my testing and others I’ve seen the difference in comfort and performance is 7 to 10 FPS depending the draw length. It may be more at the shorter draw lengths. My testing has been done at 31 or 31.5 depending on the bow.

The side you can read is the setting it is on. You DO NOT have to flip mods top to bottom.

...if you interchange top and bottom module AND flip them over at the same time you are back to point of origin, back to zero! .... maybe that is what happens here accidentally and that's the reason why there wasn't a difference in speed.

Yeah but you want to see Comfort if you're right-handed person looking at the Shell you want about look through the cam and see comfort if it says Comfort on the outside of the cam that means it's a form you need to look through the hole in the inside of the cam and see comfort

Shot one of these at my local pro shop last weekend. I reinjured my shoulder a year and a half ago which derailed my archery practice. I liked the idea of a smooth drawing bow that tunes easily. As someone with a short draw, I had trepidations about a relatively long ATA, but I just liked to draw cycle too much.

I love my SS34. I've done testing with comfort vs performance, and I've seen mixed results on speed increase. I tested it with both settings using several weight arrows and depending on the arrow saw a jump of 3-18 fps with the only difference being arrow weight. I also saw a bigger jump when having the limb bolts turned down from 70 to 60. It's definitely something where your bow may shoot differently than someone else's.

I really liked the ss34. Super stable, easy draw cycle, and very easy to tune. Ultimately I went with the elite Omnia. Also easy to tune, good stable platform, and 14 fps faster than the ss34. I have a 26.5" draw so the speed really appealed to me.

We dont have any great shops here in quebec Canada. Was burned more than once. Was lokking to buy myself tuning gear, but a last chance and all.. 🤷‍♂️ that adjustability is awsome. 1. If you can read the word "Performance" on the module then it is in performance mode, if you can read "Comfort" it is in comfort mode ....(..beeing able to read has some advantages 😎) 2. most people assume that the comfort mode makes a more comfortable draw cycle - IMO it only results in a smoother transition into the valley, and for me I can't say that this is more comfortable or easier to draw. The benefit of the comfort setting is - IMO - that creeping forward when holding the bow at full draw is easier to control, hence letting the bow down is easier too. 3. I started the new year as the proud owner of a new Reckoning 36 gen2 - IMO the ultimate 3D bow; the SS34 lacks the time lock (so you still need a press if you have to twist the cables), and it lacks the grip lock, which is an amazing feature as you can tailor the grip angle to your needs (I didn't expect much from this feature, but boy was I wrong....) 4. the gen2 cost significant more than the SS34, but having spent quite some money on a Mathews for alternative grips (how much are just the Mathews side scales ??? 🤢), top hats and modules IMO the additional $$$ for those features are worth it!

That bow looks awesome. I love the tuneability of the Bowtech. I’ve shot Mathews for several years and even broke down and bought the V3X last year but there are some downfalls. If you want to change the draw weight you have to get new mods. Same thing with draw length. In order to fine tune the bow you need to adjust the top hats. It can be time consuming if your not doing that everyday like a pro shop. One other downfall is the weight. It’s heavy. All these I sacrifice because Mathews makes such a great bow and I love shooting them. If I’m to change then it would be because of the tuneability of the Bowtech.
@InsideOutPrecision
@InsideOutPrecision Жыл бұрын
You don’t need new mods to change the draw weight. One turn off the limb bolts will drop the weight 5lbs. The mods just control the peak weight. Also the SS34 is the exact same weight as the V3X. Most aluminum bows will be between 4.5 and 4.7 lbs.
@Bowhunterohio
@Bowhunterohio Жыл бұрын
@@InsideOutPrecision thank you for that. I knew about changing the draw weight with the limb bolts but I thought it was just a few pounds. Once I get my bow set up at the shop I usually don’t mess with it to much. Lol. This past year I’ve been wanting to learn how to do everything myself because my shop is 45 minutes away and it would just be nice to know how to do everything. Thank you for your insight.

I like the review, but you should know which performance setting you are using. The chronograph results don’t match anyone else. It should be about the bow not local market and shop. It is not an 8” brace height. It’s almost 7. I really like my SS34
@InsideOutPrecision

Uhhh I never said it was an 8” brace height. I used an 8” brace height as an example when I was conveying why a higher brace height was more forgiving. And as far as promoting the shop, that was like 5 seconds of a 15 min video. I don’t why the speeds didn’t change. Just is what it is.

I haven't been able to find a good demo or get a clear answer on the flip disc. I'm under the impression that the disc simply gets flipped over and reinstalled on the same axel, not flipped, as well as moved to the opposite axel. Sounds like you did both. I suspect this is why you saw no change. I'm just speculating that's were you went wrong based on other vids I've watched. Would love to find out for sure.
