It was lucky that back in 1976 I stopped at a little place in Euless to get a beer. There was Boxcar Willie on a little stage with a few musicians. There was no cover at the place and I had never heard of him. After he sang a few songs imitating famous stars, I thought he sounded better than the original singers. A few years later, he was up in Branson.

I use. To go see boxcar and the band when they came to ohio west Virginia or PA, i got to know those guys in the band pretty good and they said harlem did like to drink, but it was always funny watching him do this at the shows, it never got old

I grew up knowing Harlan, him and my uncle grew up together. when Harlan was in town in the DFW area Harlan and my uncle would come to our house and play till dawn. I was at the Silver S addle every time he came to town.

Sad part is you spend your time a wishin and looking at bigger and better things, then you blink and somehow all those things are yesterday’s memories, leaving you only hopeful for the tomorrow again.. when tomorrow is taken away from you, there are no more yesterday’s anymore so now is what counts the most to you. Not any other time or date..
