Who remembers the VL at autosalon with the number plates ONICE. Walky bodykit turbo setup and airbrushing down the side of rips in the paint and ice breaking through. I remember in the early 2000s seeing that on the street and in car shows and thinking this bloke had to be the richest bloke around to spend so much on a walky. These days you show it to kids and they think he must of been smoking ICE to build that!

INTERVIEW OF THE YEAR! That was awesome! i love the references to "back 20yrs ago" because you were steered to whatever was coming out in your favourite magazines (zoom, budget build ups, street machine, performance build ups etc) and you didn't get facebook builds from all over the world, or youtube videos showing how to do it differently. i remember a lot of finished cars getting stripped back to redo (possibly due to being poorly received at shows due to style) and never being finished again.

Budget Buildups became Performance Buildups. That's when I was Editor of it and Luke actually did a heap of Melbourne content! The front cover said "HORSEPOWER, BOOST & CUBES, NOT RICE, BLING & BOOBS" across the top :P Luke was also instrumental in helping me put together the Fast Fours "OFF THE STREET" import drag racing magazines.

The osman wrx and psycho commo ute were absolutely unreal. They were so unique and time specific that they will always have a special place in my heart. I remember reading Boxer’s stories back in the day. In actual fact, that’s the only reason I used to buy some mags, Boxer was one of my favourite reporters

I had my throttle cable melt on the street in my R31 and get stuck at WOT in traffic just across from Northlands in Preston... Fun! One of the hairiest situations I've ever been in... After slicing through some traffic while wheel spinning in top gear I got it shut down and pulled up on the Puma servo... Fark, not something you want happen anywhere at anytime

Love this XH been watching this build ever since it’s been on KZbin. During COVID in Vic a stock XH sold for $32,000 and a panel van sold for $22,500 on eBay.

Victoria is the absolute worst for over priced cars, a vn v6 executive is up atm for 10k 🙄 they did a closed door respray and lowered it on chasers and apparently it's worth 10k 🙄😂 shits insane, I paid $650 for mine 4 yrs ago with 144k on it lol Isn't even the worst I've seen, vn ss for 45 50k lol it's just dumb, true enthusiasts are just being priced outa the game 😔 Honestly for 50k I'd rather go buy a mustang 🤷‍♂️😂

I have never competed or have any desire to in the 10.5 class but from what I have gathered, some guys were running the 10.5W, which is technically a bigger tire but also technically legal, so anyone running a regular 10.5 tire got all butthurt because they were at a disadvantage. A lot of people forget that racing is cheating without "technically" cheating. Its a fine dance. This is a pretty sweet car. I wish we had them here in the US

The ute is awsome. The barra swap is awsome. Im personally a V8 guy however the ute is great . I worked for TickFord - FPV For 17 years , when the XG , XH ute was new , great underated ute. Keep doing what your doing and kleen up . 😉😷👌

Sweet, were you there (Tickfords) when my son's 2000 Eibach Cougar was built up? 1 of only 100 made by Tickford. He's got a real nice one as a first car a few years ago.....probably a future collectible. Last of the 2 door Sport Coupes (except the 86). Unfortunately, a Barra wont fit (well not FWD), but a 3.0 Escape Duratec fits nice ;).

Sadly Express Publications folded most of those magazines. Can’t really blame them though, Facebook and the internet really gave the magazine industry an uppercut. Maximum respect to magazines like Street Machine for still kicking goals

I did over 50 passes in it at willowbank. Finished drag challenge weekend 2019, got 10th in dyo class. It never saw a dyno or a car trailer. Did a couple of 10sec passes in it. Sold it for $10k about 18 months ago.
