Great tips! I was taught that (generally) when slipping or evading a punch, it should put you in the most favorable position for the counter strike, and then safely get out of the way. One move sets up another move, in MMA I notice that they like to throw their shots over the opponents shots or get hit to land one, I don't always agree with that lol. I thought the purpose was to hit and not get hit lol. I like the classic style boxing styles much better.

I had 90 amateur bouts but one thing my coach taught me was you get low throw 3 to 4 jabs to get in and it works every time you have to learn how to slip and bob and weave that’s why I said watch Tyson the young Tyson version . Than learn angles watch and study Lomachenko and Pacquio they throw a lead left but they tilt their body when throwing it so that they are not countered with a straight punch that your in position to hit the body afterwards

@@CoachAnthonyBoxing That's what I love about the boxing community. It's big, but it's still small. I watch your videos and learn different perspectives and ideas. The video that you had recently where you were teaching about taking a slight step to the side when coming in on the jab is what I was thinking about when I was working with a kid who fought the same kid that your boxer fought. Small world.

Lead uppercut vs counter overhand...Maybe safer to bend knees and throw uppercut on the way up than reaching. A well timed overhand taking head of line would be a devastating counter.
