The Kung fu user utilised his style in a very smart manner knowing what to do during a certain situation, the Boxer can practice on head movement, combos & try to be unexpected when in the heat of battle, they both are excellent sparring partners and great fighters in their own unique way👍🏼

I think there are some styles of Kung Fu that give total advantage over boxing. Other on the other hand give the boxer the total advantage. I think the mantis style is the one that rock paper scissors box, since it's main point is to deflect punches and use the moment to counter.

V Ling eye gouges are faster then a jab and people always leave their eyes exposed. But a boxer in the ring has a major advantage as far as punching power and fakes, wing chun has an advantage in speed and blocking. In a sparring match no one is eye gouging or throat shoting so it could go either way depends on the fighter boxer has an advantage being wing chun is all about being as cheap as possible and you would never use those on someone who isnt really trying to hurt you, personally i like training both
@AceofDlamonds9 жыл бұрын
***** It's funny because in live action where things are fast paced eye gouges and throat grabs are not put on a high priority by the opponent claiming to be able to simply end a fight by doing that. Once they are put in heat, by a grappler or kickboxer or w/e, they start to prioritize, finding out that it's more difficult than they thought to deliver those fatal blows....if you watch old Vale Tudo and No Holds Barred matches with very few rules, people basically defend themselves desperately instead of going for the supposed weak points of the body. Higher percentage moves win the majority of fights and are faster and more accurate than those eye pokes or pressure points because they are less precise and more rudimentary and trainable day after day.
@BrandoftheSacrifice9 жыл бұрын
V Ling eye pokes are as easy to land as a jab people land em on accident in ufc all the time. pressure points are almost impossible to land. there is a reason all self defense arts recommend hitting in the eyes its because anyone can learn it really fast eye pokes are an incredibly high percentage technique people never protect there eyes people usually cover there throat groin shots are difficult but the eyes are always a open target. Btw wrestling shots and kickboxing kicks are actually pretty slow and low percentage techniques high risk high reward . and throat strikes and eye gouges dont end fights they just give a few extra seconds to work and throw your opponent off

The most people here discuss like children..."My kung fu is better than your boxing blabla" in the 21th century nobody needs this discussion. In my oppinion the problem the kung fu guy has is the same the most kung fu guys have. They watched to many kung fu movies and think that you have to stand in front of your enemy do nothing and wait for an attack you can defend..... But that is totally wrong. YOU have to lead the fight. Not the enemy. Wing Chun is extreme close combat. What are you doing if there is a kickboxer? The kickboxer sees that you are waiting for a punch and if he is intelligent he kicks your brain out while you are on the enemies kicking distance. And if you don´t lead the fight you are all the time on his kicking distance..... If youre standing there and waiting for punches you can defend its the same as you are waiting for the ambulance....

(E.E.W.T.O.), or 1214 Mag street 3, Budapest, Csepeli Pitbullok MMA gym You are welcome. Anytime. You can chose if you want to get your ass kicked by WT or MMA Since I am not planning to go to the USA, and if I will, propably on holiday, and not to a place near you, you have to come here. You have no proper stance, no centerline defence, the position of the arms is incorrect, bad guard, no knee constricting force, no advancing steps, bodyweight is not well placed, no circling steps, no recognisable wt techniques or movements (except for the bong sau, but that was not well executed), no statioanary elbows, no chain punches, BUT a lot of weavings and leanings, jumpings, hoppings, raised heels, regular walking steps, roundhouse kicks, deep stances, wrestling moves, spinning back kick... I don't think I should to be worried about you. You were actually lucky it was only a friendly sparring, and the other guy seems to be a complete amateur. I also don't know, which is worse- if you don't know proper wing _un and only tried to imitate, or you actually do know good wing _un, but only played around, and posted this invective crap online as wing chun...

I do. While kung fu has combat aspects of kicks, throws, trapping ect. Boxing has very elusive footwork and bobbing and weaving. It also offers rampage blocking. Wing chun like shown in the video is entirely based on blocking up the forearms. With my experience in both arts, a heavy boxing combo is hard for a wing chun practitioner to continually block without getting tired. And if the boxer is Stronger, they tend to have to eat the punch. Boxing offers better combat techniques for someone who doesn't train all the time. People tend to overlook it because its not as "majestic" as the Chinese arts.
