Parker’s resurgence is insane from getting ko’ed by joyce to winning an interim world title from zhang and wilder. That being said he relies on his opponents slowing down and him picking up late dubois has a great gas tank but dude’s neck is fused or something because he cannot seem to move his head. Dubois is there to be hit with the right hand but he’s got a chin though and parker isn’t exactly the hardest hitter Heavyweight boxing is kind funky at times and this fight may come down to who has the better gas tank

@ using your legs as well yes but dubois doesn’t really do that he kinda just stands there after throwing right on the center line. Sometimes he almost heabutts punches by looking down and pointing his head down when a punch comes it seems to take a lot of sting out of them surprisingly enough. The top of the head is very solid and I’m sure it hurts the person punching him a little bit

Ver good film study. A little confusing at first using Parker vs Joyce - but makes sense since Joyce’s style is much closer to DDD than Wilder or Zhang. Loss to Joyce was not Parker’s worst loss let alone his worst performance! Parker has made several adjustments since then - higher guard, more lateral movement and level changes - especially early rounds. Hard to know if his fundamentals have changed - especially under pressure and fatigue. Same goes for DDD - if his pressure is not as effective and his volume drops, can he adjust or will his confidence and heart drop like we have seen against Usyk.

i give it to dubois... An old Zhang dropped Parker 2 times, while a young Dubois also has great power too and can't shake him up, but i'd like to see Parker with a title too

Everything Parker does is to try to box for points as he doesn’t have ko power, he doesn’t try for a ko- he also fights at range because it suits him- it keeps his chin out of danger. So he’s standing off your trying to box you to a points win. However- to BOX you he needs valuable TIME to think about using these techniques, but Daniel will not ALLOW him time to think about what he’s doing. There won’t BE any time to think. Daniel attacks every 5 seconds and follows up his attacks with more bombs. He’s ridiculously dangerous. And once you haven’t got that thinking time you will start to make BIG mistakes, and that is something you will not survive against Dubois. He WILL stop you. This man is the most dangerous heavyweight on earth.

Yes, really good stuff here relating to each other's matchup. Yes, both can do a lot 'crossstepping' and yet I feel like they cancel each other out. On the downside from a fans view: I actually do expect that to result in a lot of hurling and falling and then grabbing on so its NOT pretty. It's not real 'set in place' action. - I see a real advantage for Parker 'upshots' from below but Dubois has been very good (see AJ) at pulling back so power is taken off those upshots. and again, I can see exchanges where Dubois does mostly pull off but (as noted) has a habit of resetting his stance 'not quite diligently' to say it, Parker lauches to capitalize and also swing-misses throws forward. For just fan entertainment maybe a lot of those. - imo, Dubois' key weapon is going to be the ramrod jab. He looks for Parker to up-punch then that ramming jab.. which isn't really a 'jab' as we'd usually think, that short straight left bang, bang. my best guess is DDD does indeed cut off the ring, Parker goes backfoot, traps, trying to scramble levels, play with the centerline and may well win rounds too but Dubois, and this may be simply overwhelming power, just forces him into corners and it goes badly for Parker who has to take a TKO maybe 7th or 8th. Really, I also expect Parker to get in some damn good uppercut or overhand rights too, 'wow' shots but Dubois is too much iron jaw and won't care.

A lot of Parker's analysis is from the Joyce fight. I'd like to have seen more relevant examples from his fights against Zhang or Wilder. His loss to Joyce was definitely Parker at his worst. I don't disagree that this fight is tough to call but I think many of the issues presented here have been addressed by Parker and his team.

Examples from Wilder and Zhang are in fact less relevant. Zhang is a southpaw. Wilder fought negative for 12 rounds. Neither come near the style of Dubois. If the issue is with the fighter moving backward, a fight with Wilder constantly going forward won’t expose it. In the Zhang fight Parker definitely had these same issues however, Zhang is a southpaw which meant different risks. There would have been a viewer with higher boxing IQ in here saying “why would you use a southpaw?”.

So, Dubois is known for, famous for, his ability to actually get stronger as the rounds go on. Maybe Joe Joyce and Dubois are the two most remarkable heavies for not just 12rd cardio but actually getting more and more cardio the later the fight gets. Dubois cardio is often called his greatest strength.

Wilder was doing Wilder. We wouldn’t expect t DD to use nothing but lateral movement for 12 rounds. Zhang is a southpaw. It isn’t reasonable to directly compare an open stance match to a closed stance match.

Even the aspects of a fighters game that would be the same actually were the exact same from the Joyce fight to the Zhang fight especially when it comes to footwork and disengaging. Clearly Parker had low guard issues as well. I’m not surprised you didn’t notice. Wilder used lateral movement the whole fight. That isn’t what DD does.

It's not really scientific based on the content only showing examples based on one fight. If you showed repetition that a boxer does the same move from various fight examples, then you can conclude that the boxer has a habit to do this move. But basing it off one fight makes it baseless. Plus both boxers have learned so much more since then.
