Different types of power dude. Foreman had overall more force transferred, over a longer period of time, whereas Tyson had slightly less force, delivered in a quicker amount of time. The concept of impulse is of concern here, and it's the product of Force and time. The values of the two boxers may as well be the same. When it comes to hitting the head, however, a quicker punch with less force to it is enough for lights out.

I see why GGG punches hard... he works on getting the alignment of his forearm behind the punch trajectory. This means that a moment is created around the elbow as opposed to the wrist. It doesn't matter where the fist lands, he finds a way to align his forearm behind it.
@3mmatron2 жыл бұрын
When I first got into boxing, I had a coach who legit looked like Mickey Goldmill from Rocky and he ALWAYS said "keep your elbow up when throwing the hook", never understood it or bothered to and, almost threw it away because it's taxing, but this makes it so clear. Foreman has more weight and overall psi but tyson has more snap, speed, acceleration, etc. In other words, tyson was more explosive. Pound for pound, tyson may have hit harder. Put this into perspective, take foreman and shrink him down to tysons size, he wouldnt have his devastating power would he? Hes naturally big and powerful and theres nothing wrong with that, but tysons power comes from ferocity. Its like comparing a wolverine to an elephant, sure the elephant is stronger, but the wolverine is meaner, more ferocious. Tysons more ferocious given his size disadvantage against almost all his opponents and still being able to knock their lights out and shatter the bulb. Thats my point.
