Somewhere along the way, Manny realized the speed and power of his punches could permanently hurt his opponents, and he lost some of his viciousness. I think it happened after that scary KO of Hatton. There were several fights after that where he could have finished his opponent but held back. Look at his fight with Margarito where he was pleading with the referee to stop the fight. Margarito had a fractured orbital and couldn't see Manny's punches coming anymore. Pacquiao could have absolutely finished him whenever he wanted, but Margarito would have probably been permanently blind if Pacquiao went for the kill.

Yeah I think it was that Hatton KO that made him hold back. He might’ve been a little spooked after that one.

I remember Pacman rised his hand after the Hatton KO. But his corner or someone, told him to go down pray. It should be like that, coz Hatton looked really in struggle even to breath.. And an opponent should care more than just a victory for himself. It could be fatal to anyone, on that situation. It could. One more lesson to learn.

It is actually worse for Cotto's brain to keep punching him then a quick ko.
@joefryhutagaol42769 ай бұрын
@@lodxmas Cotto is still OK, till this day, if i'm not mistaken. But a KO, infront of the children, it's too hard for me to imagine. Brain damage of a KO is bad too, if you want to compare. Coz the Brain got shock so hard that it stop responding.🙂
@lodxmas9 ай бұрын
@@joefryhutagaol4276idk about that cause doctors always say about boxing that it is the repeated punches that cause the more damages. You lose brain cells every punch you take, so taking 1000 jabs to the face is actually worse than a one clean but quick ko. They even say that it is not the 2 fights a year that cause cte but more the repeated hard sparring session every week.
