current science says time under tension isn't nearly as important to hypertrophy as was thought only a few years ago. Peak performance causes more hypertrophy. For example, you DB chest press at 1 tempo and get 15 reps, you do it slower, and even with better form and only get 13 reps, testing repeatedly shows the 15 reps causes more hypertrophy. in fact, as a S&C coach myself I shouldn't say this, but.... peak performance destroys all other stimulus combined. Meaning most of the techniques we teach are really just tools for safety. Tempo is really a tool for safety, I mean, if you believe repeated testing. (I should say peak performance while controlling the weight through eccentric and concentric, if someone lets the weights drop they leave gains behind)

Nah. Time under tension isn’t for safety? Wtf are you talking about? Those are not facts. Time under tension with explosive concentric pauses and full eccentric extension will grow tf out of your muscles. And athletically speaking controlling the weight is way more important than the 15 shit reps… that’s a bunch of sam sulek bs.

We just must never ever forget natural genetics when looking at the best of the best. Their bar is at a very different level to the average person.
