Sharon Stone signed on to star and as a Producer. She told them if they didn't hire Sam Raimi she'd walk, fought to get Crowe cast becuase he wasn't famous yet, and then paid Leo's salary herself when the studio didn't want to. She may not be the most notable performance (she held her own obviously) but she made this movie.

@Adamdidit... She might've 'made it her movie' behind the scenes- I'll give her props for that but IMO she was the absolute worst in acting out of all of them. Hackman was superb,Dicaprio was mischievious & funny,Crowe was ok,Henriksen was comical as the poser buffoon but Stone's delivery was painful.

To be fair the man was definitely not bulletproof, he simply said he couldn't be killed by a bullet........ and he was correct it did indeed take more than one to actually kill him. It reminds me of a joke they once had in a punisher comic where Frank Castle was describing dealing with a gunfighter who had reflexes so sharp he was documented as having been able to dodge a bullet. That didn't mean he could Dodge a full clip of them fired from an assault weapon as opposed to a single round from a handgun. Then there's the episode of Buffy the vampire Slayer where they're going up against a demon who brags that no mortal weapon can kill him..... But he had previously existed only in an era where the toughest weapons were swords clubs and maybe bows and arrows. It turns out he was quite unprepared for rocket launchers.
