9:17 Fun facts about the Series Finale, the show wasn't ended because of low ratings, actually they were the highest they'd ever been but some of the actors wanted to move on. However, during the final scene in the classroom where they are all barely keeping it together and crying, that's not acting, they were genuinely sad it was ending and the emotion was so real and raw, they did the entire scene ONCE! DAMN how many shows can say that now.

What's funny is that the show ADDRESSES that Cory learns the same lesson over and over in one episode where "Rory" throws down his script and goes "we're doing this again? How can I learn so much every week and still be so stupid?!" And the writers are then revealed to be literal toddlers. Or the one where Shaun is like "did we just set off an Alarm? “Some characters just randomly drop out.” But, that’s often what happens with friends and acquaintances at that age. There’s a core group of friends and peers who remain, but every year of school at that age arguably has some shuffling around. People leave in the process. Memorable people leave in the long run. The people you finish elementary/middle/high school with are not exactly the people who were there in the beginning.

Boy Meets World is one of the best TGIF series of all time. I grew up watching this show. I like how the teachers; especially Feeny and Turner; are portrayed as mentors rather than antagonists like in most other shows. I've always had mixed feelings about Eric. Apparently, Friedle said he and the writers didn't really "find" Eric until the episode where he's tested against a mouse and the mouse succeeds MONUMENTALLY. From that point on, he and the writers went no holds barred. But in many ways, because they did lesser serious episodes with Eric after that point, when they did focus on a serious storyline with him (the episode where he and Cory are cleaning out their garage and have their biggest blow up fight, with both of them ending up in the ER), it really hit home for me.

I do love the Underage Drinking episode. Funny how you don't see Eric in the episode at all. Jack sees Shawn with a beer in their dorm room. Gives this big speech about how Shawn shouldn't drink and called their dad an ugly drunk. So who bought the beer, was it Eric's?

I wonder if the flip-flopping episodes were easier to digest when it came out just because back then you would've only seen one episode per week (or so), and not binge whole seasons at a time. This show was great because it appealed to everybody. The adults with Cory’s parents, kids growing up with Cory and Shawn, young adults reaching 18 with Eric and teachers with Turner and Feeny. The show sings a lot from middle school to high school to college at the heart of the the show has always been Cory and Shawn’s friendship and how it could stand after Cory got married.

The characters disappearing and not coming back was something I always accepted as just part of the world the show was set in 1) because the show was totally self aware of it "Hey, Mr. Turner, wait up!" 😂 And 2) I assumed it's set in the same universe as Sabrina the Teenage Witch (Eric is literally with Sabrina at the end of one episode, and Cory finds Salem wandering around school in another, so...) which also had characters (Jenny, Valerie, Miles, Dreama) leave and not come back or get mentioned again. Sabrina also sort of acknowledged this in a cheeky way when one of Sabrina's workmates was like "Hey maybe your aunts will come back" and she goes, "No they're not coming back..." 😅

I used to think the show overdid it on how many problems all the kids had, especially Shawn. But thinking about it now it is really cool that the show tackles as many problems as most kids would go through like losing parents, alcohol, discrimination, etc Even in the abuse episode it’s not something happening to any of the main characters, it’s happening to a girl they knew and they wanted to help her.

I think Critic nailed it regarding age range. I was slightly younger than the main characters growing up watching this and it definitely resonated more with me than he's saying it did for him. And regarding the final scene, as an adult I can see how it's kinda corny, but as a kid it wasn't something I'd seen a lot so it hit a little harder, particularly the last line/clarification (don't want to spoil it since Critic didn't)

I'm so very glad Doug liked the show cause it really is one of my all time favorite sitcoms cause i really appreciate and love the dramatic moments in the show cause of how real they feel. The problem with when certain sitcoms try to do dramatic moments in them it feels...forced. It doesn't feel like I'm watching real people deal with real problems it feels like I'm watching TV characters deal with problems. Boy Meets World on the other hand feels like I'm watching real people. People i relate to and therefore can relate to their problems and how to solve them. I've always thought that Boy Meets World was a show that was ahead of its time especially since it was a Disney show. It really shows how Disney back then really dealt with heavy and real material. And also like Doug said the comedy in the show really was on point. To this day some of the jokes and episodes in that show still make me laugh which says a lot for a "dumb 90's kids sitcom." What can I say i just appreciate and notice solid good writing when i see or hear it and i do genuinely think Boy Meets World had some of the best writing compared to other sitcoms that came out around that time. I'll admit the show isn't perfect but it still is one of my all time favorites. "I love you all. Class dismissed."
