I also missed out on this show when it was new. I was more into cartoons than live TV as a kid. The way Doug described the switching from comedy to drama makes it sound like Mood Whiplash* : The Show. *Thanks, TVTropes!

This show was great because it appealed to everybody. The adults with Cory’s parents, kids growing up with Cory and Shawn, young adults reaching 18 with Eric and teachers with Turner and Feeny. The show sings a lot from middle school to high school to college at the heart of the the show has always been Cory and Shawn’s friendship and how it could stand after Cory got married.

Love the chemistry of every relationship on this show. I dont remember Mr. Turner ever interacting with Cory's parents, but when he had the accident it is like they were involved woth each other beyond Shawn's situation. Also, Kid Gets Aquainted with Universe is my favorite

This show was my 90s sitcom of my childhood. I was a few years behind the characters and it definitely gave me a way exaggerated expectations of high school and young adulthood lol. But glad you got to go through this show that epitomizes my childhood! 😊

My favorite performance through the whole entire show is probably Rider Strong He does such a good job. I’m surprised he hasn’t been in more movies or shows after boy meets world with the exception of cabin fever, he should be in more movies and shows he’s a really great actor.

The characters disappearing and not coming back was something I always accepted as just part of the world the show was set in 1) because the show was totally self aware of it "Hey, Mr. Turner, wait up!" 😂 And 2) I assumed it's set in the same universe as Sabrina the Teenage Witch (Eric is literally with Sabrina at the end of one episode, and Cory finds Salem wandering around school in another, so...) which also had characters (Jenny, Valerie, Miles, Dreama) leave and not come back or get mentioned again. Sabrina also sort of acknowledged this in a cheeky way when one of Sabrina's workmates was like "Hey maybe your aunts will come back" and she goes, "No they're not coming back..." 😅

I used to think the show overdid it on how many problems all the kids had, especially Shawn. But thinking about it now it is really cool that the show tackles as many problems as most kids would go through like losing parents, alcohol, discrimination, etc Even in the abuse episode it’s not something happening to any of the main characters, it’s happening to a girl they knew and they wanted to help her.

This show really helped me deal with some issues I had been having after my father passed away. This show had great comedy and wonderful characters, and as a kid, I never really realised just how relatable the problems that I faced growing up were very similar to those of Cory and his friends. Boy Meets World is definitely one of my favourites.

This is easily one of my favorite TV shows. I think the way the episode tones switches from funny to dramatic is actually completely justified. One moment we have a happy moment in our lives and then another is the complete opposite. The characters are very relatable and I can even relate to myself as Cory. There are some of the best things about Boy Meets World. For anyone who has not seen this show yet, definitely check it out.

I think Critic nailed it regarding age range. I was slightly younger than the main characters growing up watching this and it definitely resonated more with me than he's saying it did for him. And regarding the final scene, as an adult I can see how it's kinda corny, but as a kid it wasn't something I'd seen a lot so it hit a little harder, particularly the last line/clarification (don't want to spoil it since Critic didn't)

I was born in the early 90s. The weird thing about that was that BMW was standard Friday night viewing as a kid but I didn't really "get" the show until watching reruns as a tween in the early 00s. Then as as an adult, there were nuances that made this show work that are still hard to believe were just completely abandoned when the sequel show was created.

This was my absolute favourite show growing up. I used to watch it basically every day it came on, so I've watched it front to back at least 3 times. Just had a ton of fantastic and relatable characters, and it's really enjoyable having them go through all these different types of problems as they went from middle school to college.

Firstly, Fenny was the father figure all children deserved. My son is named Vinny and I do the Fenny calls with his name ALL THE TIME. Second, my fav episode as an adult is the college era one where Corey is all bent out of shape about Co-ed dorms. At one point this hunky guy shows up in nothing but a towel and Corey says "My gf is in there" and this dude makes the dorkiest "yeah" noise. That guy is now my friend. He's 2 youngest kids are friend with my kids. I am highly entertained by this since I grew up watching the show

I'm so very glad Doug liked the show cause it really is one of my all time favorite sitcoms cause i really appreciate and love the dramatic moments in the show cause of how real they feel. The problem with when certain sitcoms try to do dramatic moments in them it feels...forced. It doesn't feel like I'm watching real people deal with real problems it feels like I'm watching TV characters deal with problems. Boy Meets World on the other hand feels like I'm watching real people. People i relate to and therefore can relate to their problems and how to solve them. I've always thought that Boy Meets World was a show that was ahead of its time especially since it was a Disney show. It really shows how Disney back then really dealt with heavy and real material. And also like Doug said the comedy in the show really was on point. To this day some of the jokes and episodes in that show still make me laugh which says a lot for a "dumb 90's kids sitcom." What can I say i just appreciate and notice solid good writing when i see or hear it and i do genuinely think Boy Meets World had some of the best writing compared to other sitcoms that came out around that time. I'll admit the show isn't perfect but it still is one of my all time favorites. "I love you all. Class dismissed."
