@@raiklaub975 umm, ok…first of all they don’t fight, it’s wrestling. I was simply stating that girls often don’t have other girls to wrestle against, so they have to wrestle boys. And yes, the boys don’t have a choice but to wrestle whoever they’re drawn to go against, even if it’s a girl…

@@Jandro34 Wrestling is also a form of martial arts, so you can say it's a fight. Splitting hairs isn't an argument. Anyway, my argument remains that no one forces girls to join the boys' team. But boys are forced to wrestle girls even if they don't want to. Like I said

@@mikeholtzclaw3995 Women who have been raised to be a fighter are certainly not the most attractive. But that is usually lost quickly, since they almost only compete against each other in the lower weight classes (i.e. when they are very young). After that, it's too frustrating for women to keep losing and they quickly give up their pugnacity against men
@mikeholtzclaw3995

@@raiklaub975 Well, physical attraction is a matter of individual taste, so we all differ on that. To me, a woman who is fit and athletic is very attractive. To you, that's not attractive. That's fine. We can have our own individual tastes.
@raiklaub975
@raiklaub975 Жыл бұрын
@@mikeholtzclaw3995 no, it's not. What you refer to is anecdotal: what you think and what you think I would think. We didn't talk about fit and athletic, it's about having a fighter mentality. A fighter mentality is very attractive to women (when men have it) and not very attractive to men when women have it. Of course both sexes should look fit and athletic within a cultural given spectrum and as always, it has to do with evolutionary biology and the better chance to have and raise your offspring. Since this describes the vast majority within the Gaussian distribution, there may and will of course be deviations (just as you admitted for yourself - if it wasn't a misunderstanding between "fit and athletic" and "having a fighter mentality").

@@raiklaub975 It's not anecdotal. We're talking about what we find attractive in another person. That's individual taste. To me, a woman who is fit and athletic and competitive is very attractive. You make this broad statement about what women like in men and what men like (or don't like) in women, but believe me, plenty of women *don't* find a "fighter mentality" attractive in men. Plenty of them. Speaking only for myself, I would not be attracted to a woman whose "mentality" leads her to get into bar brawls, but i would be attracted to a woman who likes the challenge of a sport like wrestling. That's not anecdotal. That's individual taste.

That "wrestling move" (LOL) the boy made (12:40 - 12:45) was so unsuccessful that it almost got him pinned and he gave up 4 points -- he was saved when the ref stopped action when he gave a potentially dangerous hand signal (13:05) . What was she doing with her hands? I think after that exchange the boy decided to go beast mode on her and he used boy power to take back control (13:56 -- 14:05) From there it was pretty much lights out for the princess (14:24)! 😂🤣😂 Kind of pathetic (sexist?) how the crowds cheer for the girls all the time.

Now right there! See that action sequence from 12:00 to 12:08? THAT is what these boys should be doing to pin girls. Instead to having to wrench so hard with a half nelson on the slim slippery neck, arms, and shoulders -- reach in with one arm between her legs and use them as a lever to help easily roll her over for the pin! Much quicker and much less effort! 🙂

So I'm not familiar with this sport but watching a couple of these videos there seems to be a weakness in the girls technique. Almost always, the boys initiate the aggressive contact by pulling the girl's head down and more often than not getting the superior position on the mat. Am I wrong about this?
@raiklaub975
@raiklaub975 Жыл бұрын
it's called technique, both could do
@Richard-qz8up
@Richard-qz8up 11 ай бұрын
Very observant, but it's not a weakness in the girl's technique. For equal weight boys and girls, the boy has superior upper body strength (including the core muscles) after puberty. When it's male versus male, they try the same move (called a snap down) and it's hard to resist it if done properly but it can be resisted. A girl has no hope, the coach teaches the guys to do that move because it works 100% of the time on a girl if done properly. I have a daughter that I raised to do whatever she wanted to do regardless of whether it was a male dominated area or not, but even I would strongly discourage her from wrestling guys after puberty. As a father of a girl, this was hard to watch and I don't understand why parents expose their daughter to a high risk sport. BTW, I wrestled in high school so I'm very familiar with the dangers. Having said that, my daughter does amateur road racing in high horsepower Corvettes and typically beats all of the guys. Her and her husband took a driving school where they had timed laps at the end to see who was the fastest...my daughter was the only female there and took 1st place. 🏅 The driving instructors are professional race car drivers and they wanted her to consider turning pro, they were that impressed with her.

@@Richard-qz8up yes, of course. That's why we always see women win at autosport events LOL and your daughter won them all anyway or will win them all bc like you said she typically beats all men. Of course. And if not yet, then it will be soon. If she beats all men, she soon will be the #1 ranked racing car driver. Then I'll wait for the next major car race, where there are official results where not everyone can claim any nonsense. And you would do well to discourage girls from wrestling with boys. They also have advantages over boys in wrestling (they mature earlier physically, have very unfavorable body proportions for flipping, which makes a pin more difficult, they are more flexible than boys, which makes a pin harder, they are less grippy as they have more subcutaneous fat which makes a hold and a pin harder, they have a lower CG which makes a takedown harder, they have all the crowd on their side and the refs are more generous to them too etc). Still boys win matches 95% of the time. Of course, that must be frustrating. So they better wrestle with girls.

These girls work very hard. They are great athletes and competitors. These fellas out of common decency because of good upbringing don’t attack these girls the way they do other male wrestlers. They don’t grab them the same way or in the same places. They wrestle cautiously. Don’t sprawl out over them either. The guys intensity rises as the girls intensity rises. These guys never go in lights out. Find more females for females to wrestle.

For those of you who don't understand the team sport of wrestling, I'll explain: Many schools, especially smaller schools, don't have enough wrestlers on the team to cover all the weight classes. If one team has a wrestler at 108 and the other team doesn't then the team with the wrestler picks up a forfeit which is worth 6 points (same as a pin). If you put a wrestler at that weight (male or female) Who loses 10-1, the winner only picks up 3 team points (4 team pts for a win by more than 10 pts). Bottom line, would you rather forfeit 6 team points or only lose 3 or 4 team points by fielding a female wrestler who doesn't get pinned?

@Mandolin1944
@Mandolin1944 8 ай бұрын
@noelignacio931 Why do you "feel sorry for the girls"?? I think that is uninformed nonsense -- no one is forcing girls to mess up boy's wrestling. Girls have barged in to boy's wrestling and other athletics because the federal government (in title 9 -- circa 1984) decided it was OK to discriminate against boys in atheletics. As noted no girl is forced to wrestle boys and for the most part boys don't want them around either. It is a "no win" situation for boys and a "no lose" situation for girls. No boy gets any credit for beating a girl -- but when a young inexperience boy happens to occasionally get beat by an older more experienced girl he is ridiculed and mocked insistently. It is BS double standard directed against boys -- because everyone knows boys don't have feelings -- right? Or even if they do it is OK to exploit them. I think that you are misinformed and that your "sympathy" is misdirected? Don't be a simp.
