Right there with you. Multiple combat deployments and now working in emergency medicine. Seen enough for a dozen lifetimes. I've only just started processing my trauma and emotions. Used to just smile and say yeah I'm good.. I'm trying to regain that ability to function and set a solid example for my sons... anyways, wish you the best! Keep fighting!!! ✌❤

The best music, and most media, is no longer made in Hollywood or at Big Labels. It is the grassroots individuals with heart and passion and a song with meaning to sing. I am late to the party but i am glad i showed up. Men cry. Men grieve. We are not weak for doing so. We just lament differently. Blessings upon you and your family, Isaac.

I KNEW tonasket sounded familiar!! When I was younger I worked on the Spokane rez with the summer youth program. Lived in Spokane and we bussed out there about an hour each way. Best times as a youth and made lots of friends on the rez. I’m currently 23 and I have two younger siblings. A sister who’s 18 and a brother who’s 14. We recently lost my dad on the 26th of November at the age of 60. He’s an Assiniboine from the fortpeck reservation. I miss him everyday and I wish he was here. It still doesn’t feel real and I’m not ok. Lovely song man and it makes me feel good to hear another native sing his heart out. Take care brother and I wish you nothing but success.

I can relate to this so much! When I was a kid my old man sat my brother and I down and told us he was leaving and he might not ever come back and that we need to be men now and look after the family ( my mom and sister ) and he always said to me " Sun, boys don't cry " and that always stuck with me, I'm 37 years old, I was 8 when he left and this song made me ball like a baby! And that is something I do not do! At all! But thank you. Plz don't give up on ur journey, ur music is amazing.

I'm currently in an impatient gambling and alcohol house as I write this and it's where I need to be because I would always tell my mom I'm ok when I wasn't and mother's have that motherly instinct knowing something is wrong. I would always drink away the pain and this song and the words made me tear up as I continue my recovery in this house. I realized I never needed to drink away my pain, I never needed to place a bet, I just needed to take action get sober, admit myself willingly to this program, love myself and love the ones who are on the outside cheering me on. They have been there all along and there's always someone there for those suffering, we just need to open our eyes and have some clarity in our minds to see it. Thank you for creating this song Boyz don't cry, but in reality even men cry and I my heart goes out to all those men who do for whatever reason it might be. It always causes more pain when you let it bottle up inside.

God bless you bro, it's okay to not be okay, it took me years to realise it's good to talk, I get the I don't want to be a burden to the ones I love mentality I truly do. Unfortunately when you bottle things up, eventually you explode, it's better to do it in a constructive way rather than a reactive one, when life just beats you to the point that you can no longer go on, we all need someone to confide in.

Fuck dude, I got through all the other comments above yours, but this was the one that made me start crying. Fuck. Please make sure you reach out to someone, man. Whether it's a friend online, or a professional therapist; you don't have to be alone. You aren't alone. There's a world of people outside your doors and a world of possibilty. My recommendation would be to find a hobby that you enjoy (or think you might enjoy) and see if there are local groups on Meet Up or Facebook that you can check out. Even if you can't meet up in person, getting in contact with other people that share some interests might help

My Dad just died back in June 2023 this year. He had Stage 4 Prostate Cancer. That had spread everywhere. One thing God has told me through my Dads struggles with cancer and his Death. I need to tell other Men to make sure they go get checked. Get your PSA Test done! It’s a simple blood draw at the doctor office or hospital/walk in clinic. They test the couple tubes of blood. Normal healthy level is supposed to be between 0.0-4.0 level. To explain how bad my Dad had it, he had got checked at the doctor and they had told him his number reading was over 1,700. The doctors had never seen a case number that high before. So please anyone out there that reads this message, Please go get your PSA Test done! Thank You and God Bless You.🙂👍

The only thing keeping that man alive was you. My dad was past stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He told me he said son I think the last mission in my life is to make sure that youll be okay that your on the right track then he said God will call him home. Soon as I made my mind up to go in the army. He went down and for days layed in the hospital then the last time he ever looked at me it was his right bright blue eye and a single tear and he was gone.

I’ve learned to just get it out. My wife is extremely supportive of me, and I am thankful for that. A lot of wives don’t want to see their man cry, but it’s an emotion. Your kids need to see it as well, especially you sons. It’s so much easier once you get it out. Don’t be afraid to talk to a professional as well. I was too scared for years, until I just couldn’t take it. She was a life saver. Please guys, let it out. It’s not as hard as it looks, and if someone ridicules you for it, F**K them!

Remember that you aren't alone out there. There's a world of people, and if you reach out you might be surprised just how many reach back. Look online for local support groups, or even local groups associated with hobbies you might have. I believe in you!

How is this song not more popular than it should be? This song is absolutely beautiful and relatable as man myself. I grew up always feeling this sentiment, so like many men, I hide away my emotions so that I'm not a burden on someone else. Over the last few years, I've learned to be a little more open and expressive of my feelings instead of bottling them up. But anyways, I'm not gonna make this comment all about me. You've got a killer voice, man! There's so much raw emotion and power in voice when you sing. I feel the sadness in your words, and it brings me to tears every time I've listened to it. My heart goes out to you man. May your father rest in peace 🙏. Keep making your beautiful music! To everyone else, I know it's an overused phrase but, it's okay to not be okay. Life gets hard, and sometimes it's like that for a long time. But please, find someone in your life you can trust to confide in. It'll be tough at first, but trust me, you'll feel better when you do. Your mental health is important, and so are you to the people in your life. It's okay for men to cry too. Stay strong men. ❤

I feel sad that so many young men didn’t have good male role models to teach them that crying over little things is bad, but it’s okay to cry and talk about your feelings with important things. The point of “don’t cry” is to not let your emotions control you and your actions, it’s of course good to feel them and be aware of them.

@johnnythomas3882 it's not worth it man. It may cause your pain to go away but you will cause everyone who loves and cares about you more pain. It's crossed my mind a couple times in my life I'm not gonna lie to you and I'm just 35.

This was beautiful. I don't like my dad. He ruined four lives, one his own and the rest, his family, who turned out to just be people he met along his way. It's clear you care about your dad. I'm hoping my kids will view me in a similar way. This a really dope song and I appreciate you making it for us to hear, too.
