Out of the Blues, set for release on July 27, 2018 via Concord Records, is the latest album of originals and covers from American music icon Boz Scaggs. Out of the Blues, which was recorded at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, CA by Niko Bolas and produced by Boz Scaggs (and includes contributions from Ray Parker Jr., Charlie Sexton, Willie Weeks, Doyle Bramhall II, Jim Keltner, Jim Cox and Jack Walroth).
Most known for the world-wide success of his chart toping albums and hits of the late 1970’s, Boz Scaggs is a Grammy-winning, multi-genre artist, who has been making rhythm and blues, rock and roll, jazz and pop music for over 50 years. Fans who have followed Scaggs’ remarkable career dating back to the late Sixties with the Steve Miller Band; his solo triumphs with such classic albums as Silk Degrees (1976) and Middle Man (1980); and the splendid assurance of late-period high points like Some Change (1994) and Dig (2001), will instantly recognize Scaggs’ characteristically deft touch as a singer.

It's 2023, the worlds people are under attack but, oh Boz your singing voice, tones,the musicians in perfect sync and swinging blues like spreading honey on hot toast...in my body, spirit and soul you reach in and grab hold, feet needing to kick ass, catch every 1/8 beat, twang of that Boz played guitar knees bending, feet turning, twisting arms and body to keep on top of the plethora of awesomeness...I am simply not able to articulate the worthiness even. At 70 and still seriously boogieing...God's medicine for the weary soul when an inner spirit takes the lead, driving movements expressions of love, joy and all possible imagery. Boz, I just saw you in Minneapolis. Somehow, your voice sounds no different than it did back in the 70s. Here was here in Charlotte, NC a few weeks ago and what an OUTSTANDING show, the 5th time I have seen him and I swear he just keeps getting better! I've been getting back into his later stuff, but the eponymous first on Atlantic has always been a favourite, since the day it came out. What got my attention again was when I picked up a copy of "Come on Home" and hearing Jimmy Reed's "Found Love" on there kinda put the cherry on the cake. I only saw Boz live one time, when he did a memorable show in London. Seem to recollect it might've been at the Haymarket Theatre.
