Cracking video! I know now where all the photos I have seen of Wandsworth Road were taken from; that road bridge behind your filming position. What a busy junction! Thanks again for posting these trips down memory lane.

I used to watch the trains there in the late 50s and early 60s before the electrication of the Kent coast lines. 70004 William Shakespeare on the 'Arròw' sweeping down the curve building up speed. One of my most vivid memories was the sight of a J50 on a transfer freight climbing up from Stewarts Lane.. such a strange looking loco to a young boy used to SR locos.

Never have thought 47401 would have strayed that far South - but there you go!

It was allocated to Immingham's FGII Rf Distribution sector pool briefly at this time so work some Dover train-ferry traffic etc.

Awesome again. Just goes to show the misconception that 33/1's were rare in Kent. Nope, not after they moved to the Meldon ballast workings, they were regular around here from 1988.

Sure that was the week 33022 and 33055 met their joint demise at Marden after striking a fallen tree, during those winter gales. Neither worked ever again.

Thought it slipped to a stand and was rescued by a 47 that didn’t slip to a stand.
