My thoughts: Astaroth is asta's dad(it's in the name) or at least responsible for his birth after seeing a future and realising for Lucius will try he may have realised that there is no way of stopping him and thus put all his hopes into a magic less anti magic birth that Lucius or even Astaroth himself would not be able to predict with time magic. This would make Asta special and not special at the same time as even though Astaroth specifically made him to be able to kill Lucius it would still require Asta to work extremely hard as after that point nothing in the timeline is predictable. Ryu's eye being somehow connected to Astaroth is also something i feel strongly about.

My favorite theory on astas birth is him being a result of all the “life” his mother stole throughout her life with her ability, it would tie up his father plot line nicely, and you can just explain him it having magic due to her ability purging it from him only forming him with a pure form of life essence or even “ki”

i agree with anton, i just hope it doesnt affect him in any way that gave him an advantage or something major because its more inspiring when he did it call from nothing, if he gets a power up that would be cooler and tbh, he seriously needs to surpass ichika pretty soon because as strong and skillful as she is, asta is easily the most deserving character to get any powers because he trained his ass off since he was a kid until even now nonstop. Trained more than yuno more than yami more than anyone in the series so he should definitely be above everyone by a pretty good amount by the end. I can see yuno or others being close like yami but honestly it would be way cooler and make more sense if he becomes strong enough to solo the verse, think about it he does have anti magic after all so it would make sense that he becomes the strongest by a landslide because of his training and anti magic, plus bro gonna master zetten . i hope he learns some sort of mma or hand to hand combat too. And i want to see more use of the demon dweller sword using enemies magic against them or teammates magic for support.

So once it was revealed Liebe was the same age as Asta in one of the end chapter bios, (at least they seemed around the same age) I wondered if devils in Black Clover are like (and I know this sounds silly but it’s what came to mind lol) anti-fairies in fairly odd parents where when a fairy is born, an anti fairy is also born so when Asta was born without mana, so was Liebe. I don’t really hold any weight in this since I think it makes more sense Licita took Asta’s mana but yea.

I think you could actually combine this theory and the Asta had no father theory. Allen looking so similar to Asta and Licita can’t just be Tabata showing us parallels. What if Licita tried to use forbidden magic to bring Allen back and it caused her to be cursed? In exchange for Allen being “revived” Licita would be given the curse she has now. Rather than being revived, Allen’s soul is reincarnated into Licita’s womb. Devil DNA was implanted by the devil that cursed her or made a contract with her so that Asta would live through the pregnancy. That is why he has no magic but can’t be effected by life steal. It would also explain why Licita had sympathy for Liebe. Knowing her son was also part devil she wouldn’t want to believe all devils are bad. Just like her son they were also born innocent. Edit: Also wanted to add this would also parallel Bleach. The hollow White’s soul infused with Misaki which is what caused Ichigo to be born with hollow powers. Ichigo’s hollow powers and quincy powers awaked with him becoming a soul reaper. Asta only having his horns while intaking anti magic is similar to that.

Asta’s human side protects him from magic depletion since Devil’s are pure magic and would normally die. Simply put Asta being a hybrid would protect him from different parts of Lichita’s curse. This is a bit random but after you mentioned recovery mages I couldn't help think about a few questions connected to recovery mages like How many Recovery mages exist in the Clover Kingdom (I mean they don't have to be Mimosa or Doctor Owen's level of course), Why haven't we seen any magic potions or healing tools (like the Elilia's Booth that Nozel had) you think they would try not only to find them but create some as well by the group called Magic Tool Research Lab especially after Sally joining them, I wonder do most Recovery Mages try to learn Medical/Doctor skills (Cause I feel like Doctor Owen has actual medical knowledge that why he was serving under the Wizard King plus he might be the Kingdom's Greatest Recovery Mage) I feel like that would make them better Recovery mages since they could develop healing spells like Water Healing Magic: Qualle Operation or Blood Healing Magic: Curse-Breaking Blood Cocoon, I wonder if Mimosa will learn some Medical skills/knowledge or spell to heal curses (cause I don't think she at that level even with Ultimate Healing Magic) etc...?

It was someone from the land of the rising sun or Asteroth himself. Someone with powerful Ki can be with lucita. Or someone with good recovery magic (likely from a partner). So Julius may be his father. By stopping time and inseminating her. Leaving Lucius in a wheelchair for a while. Having twins. one in the underworld and one in the human world. Libre of the Asteroth Julius side and ASTA of the Lucius human side. I think Lucius can't see ASTA because Asteroth did this before he got with Lucius agreeing to the use of soul magic to get Asteroth out of the underworld.

Just a thought but if he does have a father it’s probably Julius, my only reasoning for this ties into if him and liebe are one soul that got split or two souls meant to inhabit one body like Julius and Lucius, considering his innate soul magic + his ties to demons and Julius’s time magic it would explain a few things, most of all it would possibly give reason as to why asta and his mother survived the assumed time skip that happened between him being dropped off and being found. But it’s still unknown fully if something happened with time after asta was dropped off

magic is said to be coming from life force, so running completely out of magic causes death, so licita's curse absorbs magic until it kills people, so someone with no magic like Liebe cant be affected, as well as Asta, it also means someone with an enormous amount of magic wont die instantly just by being close to her, he's never mentioned in videos speaking about licita but henry's curse is kinda similar as it absorbs magic from people until they die. about devil horns, yes there's obviously something going on with Liebe and Asta, because its not forbidden magic horns since these are permanent so Asta would have them even when he's not using antimagic, and devil hosts get the horns of the devil they are linked to, however there's a thing that could get involved in this and that is the 50/50 devil contract, because it's never seen before, nacht has a 100% authority over his devils and when it comes to the dark triad it is not said how their contract looks like but we could assume its kind of a 100% authority of the devils over the host, saying that i mean they lend their powers to the triad because they want to and not because they're being forced to so yeah 50/50 contract is unique and could be a part of why Asta's horns works differently than the other devil hosts we know

For example since Lotus said "Id rather not snuff a promising ember but..." and while Lotus isn't LITERALLY saying he doesn't want to kill Luck you would be insane for trying to argue this isn't the LITERAL intent of his words when taking into account all the context in their scene. This is exactly what's happening in the WQ scene. Tabata is almost breaking the 4th wall and self inserting himself saying "Hey guys my MC is cool and badass because he's not some hybrid or the son of god or a king, he's just a dude" that's the intent of said scene. If Asta was a devil hybrid this is literally a Naruto vs Neji moment in which the author completely dumps on the previous chapters of their story by undermining the meaning of their OWN WORDS. Asta being a devil hybrid does literally nothing other than undermine and destroy all the basis of what makes Asta a good MC. Devils "understanding" humans is silly because devils are plot points rather than characters, devils are NOT elves, they are not even remotely comparable. Devils have NO good representation as a character other than Liebe's single panel where he was attacked by magic knights BUT said panel is only possible because Liebe was literally born as a powerless freak, if Liebe was born with any kind of magic he would have hunted or tormented devils just like everyone else. Devils have no representation or argument to be made for them being capable of coming to an understanding with humans because ultimately they don't need to be. Asta's goal from Chapter 1 has always been to solve the social issues in the kingdom and while the elves work for that narrative the devils do not.

That isn't a poorly made argument. We never get the full detail of her analysis on Asta, and her analysis was done upon his human state. This means that her words are in fact meaningless in a logical sense thanks to later knowledge on hybrids in the series. That Lotus thing is a false analogy. Not even a comparable situation. The Witch Queen was stating that she was wrong bout her assumption that Asta may have been related to the elves, and then makes the implication that he isn't special, which further implies that she believes him to be a human. Which again, her analysis can't be taken seriously considering how hybrids work. People argued "Authorial intent" in my Julius/Lucius theories. Authorial intent as an argument is generally bogus unless if a preponderance of evidence is provided. Or author/editor/publisher statements to support it. That would be your subjective opinion. No point in arguing otherwise and I've already presented my side on that in the video. But the idea of devils coming to understand humans being "Silly", is actually the silly take. As even Nacht's devils felt concerned and sorrow for his potential death. Walgner even comforted Gimodello while he feared for his life at the thought of fighting DU Asta. This shows that devils can progress and understand human emotion. And Asta's ideals have evolved to being focused beyond the kingdom. The instant he heard that spade citizens were being taken advantage of, he rushed in to save them. He wanted to understand the elves and reason with them. And now, he has to save the world, not just the Clover. He'll likely have to save LOTS as well. He wanted to become the wizard king of clover because that's all he really knew. Now he knows that atrocities and discrimination occur in other countries as well. It wouldn't be in character for him to not want to spread that to the other kingdoms or even other realms. Maybe it will happen, maybe it won't. But this doesn't change the fact that the main rebuke to the devil hybrid theory is bunk, and there is loads of evidence to support it. Zagred is more than just a plot point. If Tabata makes Asta the son of a devil king I will likely be disappointed. But him being the son of a low rank devil or a nobody devil hybrid then I don't really care.

Broku, I also have a different theory that could tie-in with Hungry Joker,but I don't known it will become true. I was thinking that Asta will turn out to be Heidi's little baby brother and Nacht could be their half-brother. I think Paladin Lily could be Nacht (HungryJoker)'s birth mother,but I am thinking Licita could be Heidi's mother. I remembered Heidi had mentioned in the flashbacks where he was waking up in a laboratory with a pile of dead bodies. I thought maybe Lichita has something's do with it with her condition,because I think Lichita could be a failed attempted to created Paladin with using Astaroth and things went horrible wrong. I was thinking Licita was trying to escape with her son Heidi when she was pregnanted with Asta, but I think she decided to left Heidi behind when Nacht arrives and she escapes into 2,000 in the past to prevent Judgement. Maybe Heidi has sacrifices himself to saves the White Jokers offscene in order to stop his brother Nacht and gets reincarnates as Liebe and he got sent into the past to help his brother Asta to stop Judgement Day... I recently heard Tabata's original story was focused on a demon who had amnesia,because I think it does makes sense with Liebe have similarities with Heidi's from Hungry Joker.🤔....I do like my Yuno being Liebe theory,too,because I could see he will might go down with that direction if Tabata want to go back to do Hungry Joker...If Tabata won't go back to Hungry Joker, I could see it will reveal that Liebe will turn out to be Heidi from Hungry Joker and at least Tabata will give us a conclusion to Hungry Joker...I don't known where the story will go right now.

Astas headband has the exact same pattern as the demon dweller sword. Astaroth must be sealed inside the demon dweller. Also Astas always had anti magic. Thats why hage village lost all its trees and grass after Asta was found on the porch with Yuno. His magic was always anti magic thats why his magic was always undetectable and why his mothers magic didnt kill him. Is because he nullified her magic. (You heard it from me first)

These people believed he deserved it because he was a peasant. They spat at his existence and even went as far as to kick his own grave with 0 remorse. His narrative isn't about overcoming mere hatred alone, it's about becoming great despite your status. Your potential essentially.

I don't see how him being a devil hybrid would ruin the manga or the anime, I think it would step it up a bit. Just because you're born a devil doesn't mean you're evil, that statement right there is probably been said to more than just libee, and I would really like to see his mother saying that to whoever his father is so we can find out who he really is. Honestly I believe his daddy's probably asteroth, it's obvious that he's been split up into multiple people or it's a perhaps his magic was stolen by Lucius, and the eye which is from what I've heard and understand it's supposed to be the eye of the Dragon that asteroth rides upon and Demon mythology. So there's a possibility that after all himself is still out there somewhere. I personally believe that he is being held in some kind of barrier in the Land of the Rising Sun. Every anime that has to do with demons and Magic and Japan usually have and omioji. So I'm seeing it to be kind of hopefully falling to that direction.

I feel like licita was a regular person until 1 day she found the 5 star grimoire and was meddling with forbidden magic which caused her to get the curse or whatever she has. Its hard to believe she lived her whole life not being around people and just in a shack. Not to mention someone had to have had sex with her for her to get pregnant. A theory i have is before lucius took astaroth magic completely, astaroth made a contract with licita watching as she was slowly killing asta and inadvertently agreed without knowing the consequences. He then reincarnated his being into Asta to save himself somewhat. He'd no longer be a devil but at the same time he'd save licita child and to give maybe respect and thanks she named Asta after him? Hell that could be why she told leibe "Just because somebody's a devil doesn't necessarily mean they're a bad guy"

The entire story is built on the idea that Asta is a nobody that worked hard. For him to be a devil hybrid is to undermine the entire purpose of the story.

If we go by established grimiore lore not only should Asta be a devil hybrid but him and Liebe share a soul in some sort of way with the only difference between their souls being the personalities they developed growing in to separate locations the five leaf chose asta which should be a symbol of the hybrid theory but on top of that the grimiore was already technically Liebe since he turned it into an anti-magic grimiore and not even another devil should be able to use it since zagred had to go through the trouble of making a new one and that one could not be reused by patry the original owner even after zagred death because it was now a word soul magic grimiore true devil union seems to be what Asta strength would be had he grown properly with the humans ability to naturally improve with or without grimiore which devils lack and the natural advantages of being a devil durability,speed,strength,etc. either his father was a weak devil and Asta Liebe have the ability to get stronger and gain horns as the power corresponds or their father was a powerful supreme and their potential is immense since they are not limited like devils who have immense powers but no means of controlling it.

I believe this will tie into the birth system of black clover since there are many orphans in the world of black clover or families that only contain one parent and starting to think licita was only worried about the fact that being born without mana is unprecedented and she truely wasn’t sure he would live because all things contain mana and she couldn’t give enough to make a birth happen but with a devil it might’ve worked since their existence is different their makeup seems to be different were once they get their magic it seems to cover them instead of being inside with our earliest example of most devils using some sort of magic over soul that covers them

Broku, I do have another theory. My theory is very old. I had posted it couple times on people's channels. I believe it will might play out like FMA towards the end of the series with Asta and Yuno with a time travel twist. I know my theory sounds farfetch. I believe Asta could be Licht's son in Ryuuda's son's body after Ryuuda has a deal with Astaroth to saves his wife who's Lichita and his son. I think Astaroth is in Yuno's body that he had stole after he has thrown Yuno's soul into the Underworld when Yuno was little, because I am thinking that he wants to use Licht's son and Bell as a source of his magic to defeat Lucius after Lucius has betrays him. I think Astaroth decides to sends Bell and Licht's son into the past to get reincarnated as Ryuuda's son Asta and his wife Lichita after he has defeats Lucius. I am thinking Liebe could be real Yuno who got sent into the Underworld and reunite with Asta. I think Asta will find out that Liebe will turn out to be the real Yuno and ends up fighting Astaroth to get Yuno's body after Lucius got defeated.

why did Asta's mom really give him up? because if her power was dangerous to him then he woulda died out of the womb, but she had enough time to wrap him up and drop him off somewhere? This means he was able to live in her presence, so why did she give him up?? Maybe she was ashamed to have made a devil hybrid child (maybe made a deal with a devil because THIS WOULD BE THE ONLY WAY TO HAVE A CHILD FOR HER) and then she realized maybe she messed up and gave it away. THEN she feels guilty and finds liebe and raises him as repentance !!!

I don't think she knew that Asta wasn't in danger from her. It is very possible that Asta only had some immunity to her ability and it did affect him. Babies are some times sensitive to things are birth and the build up a tolerance with time. Or maybe her abilities didn't work inside the womb or not at strongly. If it is a curse, setting it to activate on your child shortly after birth would be mean spirited enough to make sense. You give the mother enough time to see her baby just to know that she could never keep him.

There is the parallel theory about Asta being related to a God. The god theory seems to be proven by Asta's father being immune to Lichita's curse powers. As usual, I still leave it up to Tabata to disclose the identity of the man who is Asta's father. Now with Asta being in the Land of the Sun, he is going to meet his father. I have theorized that Asta's father was from the Hino Country. If Asta is related to a God, the god is his paternal grandfather. Asta's paternal grandfather is likely Tsukuyomi the Moon God. The surname of Asta's father is likely Tsukino. Due to the absence of Wizards in the series, I have thought that Asta's father was a wizard. Due to Asta being on a hero's journey, he is going to meet his father. Since Ryu is the Shogun, he is aware of the man who is Asta's father. Due to Asta's strength and will, his own father is going turn out to be on of the most powerful magic warriors in the world of Black Clover

@@daii2x if you rewatch the scene from around 10:50 in the video. There are the 2 horns ON TOP of Asta’s head. They are shown to be long, straight, and thin. But when Asta is in TDU, full black form, or PDU the horns are slanted and much thicker. This means that Asta could have 7 horns. OR, the horns on the top of his head just changed design.

If Astaroth is Asta's father, what if Astaroth was a Dwarf previously, before becoming a devil? This'll not only maintain the theory of Devil Hybrid but also connect Asta to being part Dwarf as well, and explain his small height Additionally, dwarves are sometimes referred to as dark elves and could give Asta a link towards being part elf as well. If Lichita is an angel or part angel, Asta could be a culmination of every race shown and theorized to exist in BC lol

The witch forest arc is too muddled to determine whether or not the witch queen meant elves or devils when referring to “their kin”. Yes, elves were the beings introduced not long after that but it’s not like asta really was showing elf power initially with the swords. What if she was speaking about devils? I see no reason as to why the witch queen wouldn’t know the existence of devils in their world already, even if she made no mention of it.
