There is another major thing that I wanted to cover but didn't have the time to fit it in the video: "If the Ryuzen are stronger than Lucifero, then why didn't they help in the Spade War?" This question is misplaced. As the video discusses the CURRENT Ryuzen vs the Lucifero we saw in Spade Saga. We have no idea how strong the Ryuzen were 15 months ago. They may not have been strong enough to beat Lucifero. Simply, Ryu probably saw that due to Asta training with Nacht that they had everything under control. But it was too late for the Ryuzen to arrive by the time Lucifero manifested.

I can imagine that outside the 4 kingdoms continent there's a different magic density. So the Ryuzen 7 don't necessarily scale to the great mages we are common with who were not only born with a lot of mana but also improved it. Furthermore since Asta is entirely cut off from magic he himself couldn't tell if the Ryuzen 7 scale to a magic captain he's familiar with. Yami for example combines basic Ki knowledge from the land of the sun with the magical influence of clover. Hence he received a unique magic to him and him alone. Asta will emerge as absurdly strong with his new Zetten.

A possible reason why people might think Ryuzen are weak? They were getting bodied by weak characters, sister lily and heath are frankly some of the weakest characters in the series. So to have them get amped so high that they are beating the ryuzens likely led people to believe they were weak. Now had it been paladin zenon with all of the beelzebubs power then peoples opinion would likely be different.

Thing about Lucifero losing is what also says a lot about Black Clover in general is that anyone who defeats him isn’t necessarily stronger in a traditional sense. Its that they usually have an hax ability, even Dante losing to Magna illustrates it well. Its not dbz or to a slightly lesser degree Naruto, anyone can lose in Black clover to any character if the environment is right. I think Taabata has done well in that respect, you can’t accuse him of a ass pull as easily in regard to that.

Tabata always introduces a new powerful set of people to contest the antagonists and they always perform very well. This shows that in each arc when stakes rise so does the scaling it makes a lot of sense narratively for them to be stronger than Lucifero because what would be the point of Asta training with people weaker than him? 😭 This is a great video btw Black Clover power scaling is always fun and interesting since there's so much variety in matchups I enjoy your content a lot

I'd say there is a way for him to return cause remember that 50% of him was in the human realm while the other 50% was in the demon realm. I dont know the manga but you never know cause buddy also has his heart in him while in paladin form so that heart is understanding what and how to achieve paladin form but didnt mention its destroyed, He'll have 100% somewhere down the line after reviving and people will struggle for a bit but then he could pull out the 100% paladin form to extend the fight 10-20 more chapters or someshit lol. Honestly the author is just raising the power cliffing of factions he probably didn't really think through that much when he got here. Like seriously if any of these external powershouses of the world were that much more powerful then even a freaken Devil king over a dimension where the heck have they been in this world's history and what the heck have they been doing across history? In the real world most other powerful Empires with that much of a advantage over their neighbors would go out to conquer and dominate and expand their reach of influence. Happened alot in Warhammer Fantasy. The narrative just shifts without much consideration of established worldbuilding and multiple events and choices happening at the same time. The narrative power cliffing of this world currently just unreally broken and needs explanations and adapted worldbuilding to make it feel more alive and emersive. It would be like if in Tolkein's world of Arda a existing empire of humans were stronger then the power of Melkor's fortresses of Ultumno and Angband did nothing in their side of the world for some unexplained vague reasons.

If you have a group of above devil king plus levels characters far superior then any other national or international powerhouse and they do nothing for unexplained or bulit in reasons in their own nation does that make any real sense? The worldbuilding is just broke up and disjointed like none of this makes good active sense within the developing context and consequences in universe itself. Like aspects of the narrative is actively held back until being revealed and pushed to the front as the next big threat without much realism behind it by the creator himself. I have compared the two races and found them very similar to each other, both are ancient horned beings from another dimension that serve as the embodiment of evil in their respective verses. It would be interesting to pair all members of each race that we have seen so far against each other.

This was a fantastic video. I enjoyed hearing how you've developed since that old Lucifero vs. Yami Ichika had set this in stone. I would like to know what type of multiplier Sacred Power/Paladin Purification provides to the user? I ask this because it makes literally zero sense of the power disparity between Asta and Lucius based on their form difference; he didn't have enough time to go into Devil Union before getting bursted and BFR'ed. However, Paladin Ascension should be relative across the users, even IF the Devil Heart purification scales with the user. That's probably what causes the hatred towards Paladins in fandom; we seem to almost NEVER get an answer as to how strong they are before and after.

Thanks. As of right now it’s hard to quantify the Paladin or sacred power multiplier. It’s very debatable. If we don’t get a solid number or more evidence for a multiplier I’ll probably do a video on it. But, you can argue that it’s probably not massively huge like Zetten or even mana zone. But still a solid boost.

I would say the outcome would likely be similar or the same as the captains fight with Lucifero just without Asta and yuno. It took rill giving the captains a boost for them to even stand up, or Mereoleona just being Mereoleona, or yuno using star magic to counter act the effects of Lucifer’s passive magic. The Ryuzen 7, as far as I know, don’t have an ability to counter Luciferos gravity magic. Zetten, while powerful, doesn’t counter gravity last I checked, and even if it did, lucifero is just that much more powerful. Think of it this way, Lucius waited to attack the clover kingdom until he had Luciferos power for himself for a good reason. It’s because without it, he would’ve lost to yuno or Asta. It’s Luciferos powers that allow Lucius to be as absurdly powerful as he is now. Now just lucifero himself as he was against the captains, I don’t doubt he could take out the ryuzen 7. Remember that the only way to kill/hurt lucifero is with extremely power advanced magic(Yuno now), Anti Magic(Asta), or Dark magic(Yami). Now, ichika’s magic might work, and she would be their only chance if it does, but as far as we know, her magic isn’t the exact same as Yami’s dark magic so we cannot be sure. So in conclusion, Lucifero>Ryuzen 7 just like he was the captains; however without Asta, Yami, or Yuno there to negate gravity magic, it’s likely they might fall even quicker than the captains did.

Dante only used singularity with 80% devil power. I believe the reason Lucifero couldn't do it is because he need at least 80% of his power, with 50% only he couldn't do singularity. There are certain devil spells that require a minimum amount of devil power threshold in order to cast: * Spatial mana domination was only activated when Zenon went 40% devil power. * Dante was only able to warp space when he went 50% devil power. * Dante was only able to make diamond swords out of sand with 60% devil power. * Dante was only able to use singularity with 80% devil power. * Vanica was only able to use decaying world with 70% devil power. * Zenon was only able to use that spatial rupture sword with 100% devil power.

Through VANICA, Meg could use up to 100% of her devil power, but with 1/3 of it's potencial/magic power. Devil power is something different from mana. The opposite to devil power is sacred power. You then brought up this comparison with Vanica which doesn't work because it breaks your argument. 1/3 Megicula CAN use Decaying World. which means she doesn't need 70% power to use it. It's specifically for the contract with Vanica where Decaying World is automatically active at 70%. A lot of your examples are not actually outright stated to be ONLY possible because of the increased Devil power. Though warping space and singularity are implied to be for Dante's case. But it's still disanalogous overall, because devils are different from devil hosts. Devil power is Weg. Weg is stated to be Forbidden Magic. Forbidden Magic is stated to be negative mana. And when Dante loses half his magic power from Magna, he loses half of his Weg (Devil Power) as well. So either devil power is negative mana, or it's so closely related that it doesn't matter. Liebe has devil power because he has anti-magic energy (Which Is possibly a form of negative mana) which has been stated on several occasions to be very similar to mana.

Which would just be magic power. If Dante only lost half of his magic power, he wouldn't have lost half of his devil power as well, based on your own logic. He would have stayed at 100% Devil power but only lost half of his magic power.

I dont really like lucifero vs videos just because of one thing. The lucifero fight is prbly heavily intervened by lucius and lucifuge respectively. First of all although from arc to arc we expect stronger foes and allies lucifero was heavily hyped up as the king of devils. His mere existence was enough to destroy the entire world. In his fight with asta and the captains he goes from one shooting everyone with mid~low diff to getting absolutely destroyed by asta and later on killed by base asta. The power escalation is simply monstrous and completely abnormal. Anyhow the problem is that asta trains after that whole ordeal and says he is weaker than ichika. Ichika right now is basically some nobody for us. Although she is yamis sister that doesnt change much of anything. To conclude this long text that nobody will read i dont think we should scale lucifero to other characters due to the little info we have about him and because that little info we have about him is possibly not. If not this is some pretty bad writing by tabata sensei

Technically, atsa is an outlier in this scaling. He has the ability to harm luci easily, but not the speed and durability (with anti magic on top) to beat him. Everyone else was leagues below luci that it's not funny. All they could do was one scratch. That while having multiple buffs and teamwork. Zetten is temporary, and requires good timing. Considering the fact that in one attack against the 5 headed dragon they were low on mana shows how much they even need to damage the dragon in the first place. Luci is just gonna dodge and break them the moment they hurt him even a little bit. They would only have one shot, and would have to be from ichika because of her magic attribute.

They can’t win, there’s a major difference between what Ichika and Lucifero were trying to do to Asta. Plus Zetten is specifically meant to break things down, particularly in ichika’s fighting style as described by Ryu. I’m not saying they’re weak, but Lucifero was beating the captains in one to two hits, with the exception with Yami and Mereleone who are both easily wizard king magic. And frankly, I think you’re neglecting the point that Lucifero wasn’t trying to one shot Asta like the samurai was and only failed to kill them because he took them out and then someone else took him away from them or teleported away. I don’t think it’s impossible for them to win, I just think that you’re making power scaling comparisons but are neglecting the biggest point of power feats, the context. If they were each stronger then him, then they wouldn’t have been so thrashed by Lily and the other Paladins. For example, compare the Paladins they barely beat to the ones fighting the magic knights. They’re all stupidly powerful, but they haven’t shown any feats even relatable to Patry, who is definitely weaker then Lucifero. I think you make a solid argument, but most of there feats come from Zetten, which isn’t magic, and can kill anything and Asta can use it. I have a LOT more to say on the matter, but I’ll just be frank and tell my perspective. Lucifero’s ability’s are locked away since he has no grimore, he could only manifest half of his power. If you need scaling to that, look at Patry’s feats when he has a grimore verses when he loses it. The Ryuzen seven don’t have any comparable speed feats to the captains who some of which are definitely showing a lot more power than the Ryuzen, I think the point of the Ryuzen in the story was to illustrate fighters with power comparable power of the captains versus how much Lucious can change a nun from the sticks. As for the knocking Asta out of devil union, how did Asta go from defeating a elemental spirit twice once under the control of an elf and then fused with a military trained killer from childhood at full power who both of which were considered threats by the witch queen (who Yami said was strong as Julius) to struggling against vice captain fighters? His power scaling has never made sense, plus he wasn’t exactly motivated to kill Ichika as we was the bastard who butchered his mother, kidnapped his friend, and was trying to end the world and frankly was indirectly responsible for almost all the suffering he and his loved ones underwent. Yes, same levels of adrenaline to spare in a decent fight against his idols younger sister. If he were taking it as seriously as he should have he’d of used a better sword then Demon Slasher (which even in union, is his weakest. I like it too, but let’s be honest it’s not as useful as the other three) Cool video, but I just can’t agree. Though I always appreciate time to simp on best fox 😅

Just know I’m bad at conveying my thoughts even in prolonged dialogue, also sorry for the spelling errors. I’ll focus on the big point of the power scaling, the Lucifero vs Ichika kicks vs Asta. They both used their abilities to enhance their strength, Zetten and Gravity magic. Lucifero was constantly using his presence of the demon king, since he didn’t have access to anything else. Asta lacking magic prowess to withstand it uses an anti-magic zone around himself to move, and the power that makes his attack so devastating on everyone else is him enhancing his velocity and weight with gravity. But that would also be nullified the second it met his anti field, making his attacks hurt, but not devastating. But Ichika’s Zetten is ki, even when a captain level mage is weakening the standards attacks of another Ryuzen it’s still splitting hills and breaking gates. And Asta was healed constantly and is considered a freak by Yami when he first teaches Asta ki with how fast he can learn and adapt to ki abilities, later Ryu says the same thing. So by this point we can argue Asta is a lot more durable and used to it then when he first got destroyed by Ichika. By their second fight Asta took significantly less damage even though Ichika wasn’t holding back that time. So could we not reason that the obvious reason Ichka is so damaging to Asta is because for the first time he’s facing damage he can’t negate? By someone who has prowess and power scaleable to Yami or William? I don’t recall you bringing it up, so I wasn’t sure if you considered that view yet

I’m not necessarily opposed to the Ryuzen beating Lucifero but I do have a significant reservation. The term “true Devil Union” is an official in series term it’s not just a fan made term like Berserk Asta. So how do we know that the scaling the Ryuzen have is to true Devil Union and not 4 horn Devil Union? I believe the answer to this is enough to sway the conversation to either side. If they scale to TDU which clapped Lucifero then we’ve got our answer, if they only scale to base DU then Lucifero should be able to push them around in a similar way he did to Asta back then

Because a Zetten strike from the Ryuzen would be 24-100x more powerful. There were pretty direct comparative examples in the video, like Ichika being able to one shot DU Asta (he thought this himself) but Lucifero’s kick on a weaker DU didn’t do much.

It seems to me that there are several inaccuracies here. Paladins use the purified power of devils, but most likely do not use their full power, just as the Zogratis siblings did not use 100 percent of their devilish abilities. The bodies of most people are most likely not able to use this power in the same way as devils or angels. This would explain why Yurl's power is at a similar level to Lily's, even though there should be a big difference in power between their devils. Yurl simply had more potential as a vessel for devil power. Besides, it doesn't end up being a done deal, as the power given to them comes from Lucius, who is the intermediary between the human and demon worlds. It's also unclear if Lucius didn't transform during the fight with Lucifero, because we only saw the end of it. At the same time, Asta's power during the current arc was not at the same level as during the fight, with Lucifero, and this is mainly because after the time jump he did not become stronger only, he mastered his powers a little better, and the transformation stopped eating up so much of his energy. The form in which he defeated Lucifero had five horns and was a perfect synchronization of Asta and Liebe, which has only worked once so far. My final point is that even Lucius, even though he most likely already possessed Astaroth's purified form, must have messed with this whole plan with weakening Lucifero him and stealing his heart. Lucius probably didn't even use half of his power during the fight with Astaoth.

Not an inaccuracy. You just don't remember what was actually stated. "I incarnted and purified a devil..." he says this referencing to Lily just after he turned her into a Paladin. What this means is he's literally implanting a devil inside of her and purifying it. Considering it is stated that she has Beelzebub's power, that means Beelzebub was placed inside of her. This would mean she holds all of his power, and comparing this to the contracts are non-sequiturs. Those were contracts, and completely different, that is why they didn't have the power. Yrul's power possibly being higher than Lily's would just mean that his base power was already very strong by the time Lucius turned him into a Paladin. Power scaling is based on preponderance of evidence. We only see Base Lucius vs Lucifero. His base time magic is working on Lucifero. And, logically, he should be able to beat Lucifero in base. As it's shown that eating the devil hearts puts that power into your base. Which means that the scaling adds up that Lucius could beat 50% Lucifero in base. Nope. Just utterly wrong. It's blatantly stated by Asta that he's stronger. Literally shown multiple times in the video of the panel him saying it. TDU is Asta's strongest form, but he's surpassed that power level. Asta's Base AM potency has surpassed previous Black form levels of potency before (when progressing from elf to spade saga) so this has happened before. We'd need to know what/how Lucius was intervening in the Lucius fight to grant any sort of scaling.

Nobody said that Asta became incredibly stronger after the timeskip, it was only said that the length of his transformation increased from five minutes to ten minutes, and that he improved his fighting technique a bit. Lucius could cast this spell on a heavily weakened Lucifero after fighting him while he was transformed. Lucius only said that he put the purified power of a fiend in Lily, which doesn't mean he put the devil in her, because in that case, he would most likely have to possess him, nor did he put him in her grimoire, because she would most likely have one with would have a five-leaf clover. The most likely option seems to be that he created something similar to a contract with the devil, except that instead of getting power directly from the devil, he gets it from Lucius, who first purifies it and then send it into Lily. Which would mean he is a huge magic filter that most likely decides who gets what and how much power. This would be very convenient for him, because he can give the magic of one Devil to more than one person, and in the event of the loss of one of the paladins, he does not lose much.

Well that simply isn’t the case. She didn’t need both Zetten and her spell form. Just using her spell form was enough to be equal to that version of Asta. This is stated and shown. Also, this was only after Asta got stronger after several days of training. When Asta and Ichika first fought, she wasn’t fighting serious and her base-Zetten could knock Asta out of PDU (he thought this himself) but after several days of training he was now equal to a serious Ichika in PDU.

If this is your argument to try and argue that Lucifero beats the Ryuzen, it doesn't work. I stated in the video that not everyone will agree with the scaling despite the evidence provided. But, if you're just disagreeing with this specific scaling I understand. But it's the most supported. But yeah, even if Black Spell Form Ichika = PDU Asta > DU Spade Asta. You’ve got good arguments but I believe there’s some things that need to be sorted through with them because I feel as though there’s some gap in our understandings of the events, who is correct I’m not trying to assert. Except Ichika needed both her Yojutsu and Zetten to fight PDU Asta so no she isn’t 20+ times above PDU Asta. I understand the Lucius scaling argument however PDU most definitely doesn’t scale over TDU considering the point I made about it depicting 4 horn Union being what it’s denser/stronger than (chapter 434). I don’t see any particular inconsistency with this. It’s attack power is higher than 4 horn Union to an unquantifiable degree and this could simply retroactively upscale 5 horn Union. The context of the dialogue all but affirms this. PDU as a form is weaker than TDU. But this an Asta and Liebe who got stronger over 15 months. They're stronger than TDU While in a weaker form, pretty much no different from lesser forms of Asta later surpassing his greater forms earlier in the series. Go look back at 343. Ichika does not use Zetten against Asta until after the "equal" statement is made. She neither states it nor do we see Zetten streaks in her eyes. and the dialogue implies that neither were using it at that point. Asta said it wouldn't have mattered if he was in DU against Ichika's Base Zetten. It does sort of come down to interpretation, but that kinda of dialogue makes it seem like it would be no different from his black form based on the power gap. The context of Asta vs Ichika round 1 was to use Zetten in the heat of battle. Like we've both said, it does come down to interpretation. But either way, it still gives Ichika scaling to Lucifero with a fraction of her power because of PDU Asta scaling to Base Lucius who absorbed 100% Lucifero.

The Main Antagonist in the last arc that was described so powerful that the world would be 100 % gone and even with 50% could fight and easily beat the fuck out of the entire cast. So our characters would be dogwalked by this people but somehow they can compete (gstting strongsr because of the Timeskip is also very stupid. The only problem I have with this amazing series is the ass-pulls of powers or powerful characters that have “been around this whole time but didn’t reveal themselves” that come out of nowhere and happen to be strong enough to clap enemies that the main characters barely managed to grasp victory over. As shown in the video, she has all of Beelzebubs mana stacked atop her own. Meaning she has more mana than him. She also has a grimoire, and Lucius that humans have greater magic (basically more skilled at using it). So Lily has more mana than Beelzebub, and is better than using it. And it’s purified into sacred power. So yeah she would be way stronger than even 100% Beelzebub based on all that 💪🏻

Well now it's very obvious that the answer is yes, quite easily. Since the strongest Ryuzen singlehandedly defeated a Paladin turned magic knight without breaking a sweat, and in chapter 364, the black bulls say that the enemy is stronger than a supreme devil, while reffering to Paladin Damnatio. So yea canonically The Iron Yoryoku (forgot his name but strongest one) could probably solo Lucifero
