Mike, the best thing I've used for degreasing is Acetone, common nail polish remover, and for rust you've got to try evaporust from crc, it's not cheap but it really works.

Mike you are my favorite Canadian don’t ever stop making these videos, and watch mixing all those chemicals could be very harmful, I’m a firefighter of 23 years and I do the same stuff just be careful and don’t try to breathe the crap in, and maybe wear rubber gloves

Mike, you should know this. You’re always better off to rebuild what you have. At the end you’ll know what you’ve got. Buying a used engine or buying a cheap reman is like playing Russian Roulette. Think about how many times we watched this play out and it didn’t end well.

Mike, you have done an outstanding job with Duke long before you sold him and you say you know nothing about engines and rebuilding? look what you did for Duke, you could do the same thing with Smokey. Just taking one step at a time, and you'll get it right just as you did the first time, also don't exert yourself, and ask your father to just take it easy, we love to have him around.

Hey Mike, just an idea. You may wanna put the windows in up top. That way, you can spray them with water to make sure they don't leak before you put the insulation in.

Probably a bit late now but a small bead of sikaflex urethane between panels helps when riveting them together , no more rattles down the track !

I would do a nice satin black on those interior panels. I think Eastwood makes dash paint that would probably work well.

Please don't quite the KZbin. Some of use enjoy seeing old trucks and seeing them saved, preserved, and restored. Distilled white vinegar is a good rust remover. It will also remove the blued finish from steel firearms as the blued finish is actually a controlled oxidation process.

I love your collection of “bits, bolts, screws, crap and junk”! I have one myself starting as an apprentice in 1984…it still comes in handy after 14 years retired! You never know when you’re gonna need that obscure little bracket or washer screw etc…better keep it! The spouses can dump it all on top of the caskets at the end!

You could probably find lye from a supplier to use for degreasing. It would be much cheaper that “degreasers”. Cheap stove cleaner works good too.

Be careful with the Detroit engines Mike , they do have a habit of wearing the bullgear in front drive , they're really noisey and clunky ! Just letting u know mate , hate to see u get burnt , keep up the content ! Regards from the land of Oz !🇦🇺

Best cheap rust remover for screws and bolts is white wine vinegar. Soak overnight and it's job done. Cheaper than a can of pop as well!

I use Super Clean/ Purple Power to remove paint off my model cars when I get a bad paint job. Found out the hard way that that stuff removes paint spraying it on my car in '96 to remove oil stains & the clearcoat.😂🤦🏾‍♂️
