My orthodontist is similar in some way Not rude, but she does not communicate with me, she just look over work she tells else someone to do. She is not friendly, I have chosen the wrong ortho but since am in process already I keep telling myself am getting my teeth fix for me so it about self care and the money am spending is on me. So I used this as mean of conciliation.

Glad to see your back Dr.Greg, I think the unknown is scary. But getting braces is one thing you should not be scared of doing. Dr. Greg has a video of someone getting braces on. That's exactly how it's done. The only pain is a a dry mouth with your mouth open. The reason is to have a brackets glue on your tooth it needs to be dry with your tongue back and open. Your going to be fine. On the day you get your braces you'll add a sparkle to your your smile. Good luck your going to do great.

I think you did a great job in the video! I recently got my round arch wires changed for rectangular wires, and the first few days were very difficult (like the first week with braces), but I eventually got used to the new wires. The orthodontist said that it may be my last wire if everything progresses quickly, so hopefully I'll get my braces out by summer! :)

It was a little uncomfortable when my teeth were being cleaned from the cold air being put almost directly on my teeth while they were polishing them. Getting fitted for the plastic retainers was also a little uncomfortable. Now just getting used to wearing the retainers at night only while my mouth heals 👍🏾 love my new smile 😁😁😁

Getting braces is the best choice I ever made. Still got about 12 - 18 months of treatment to go but the improvements are already amazing. That said, my orthodontist is going to start pulling down one of my canines soon (Will be cutting the gum to do it, fun times ^_^).

Yesterday makes my 1 year with ceramic braces and yes I am 36 year old. .My gap almost gone , my overbite almost. How long did they hurt for?

@@mistythecat3050 mine hurt badly for the first two days (first was the worst, second slightly better) but it’s not a sharp kind of pain, it’s more of an achy pain. The best way I can describe it is that my front two teeth felt bruised. I managed without any painkillers so it’s not too bad but it just continued to get better over the next couple of days. Your teeth will also feel really weak so you won’t want to chew on anything for at least a week, even two but it’s really not all that bad and worth it in the end! (my two front teeth probably hurt a lot because I had a 7-8mm gap and it pretty much closed within a few hours haha)

TBH, I didn't change what I ate and I never broke a bracket. One of my Orthodontist assistants actually broke off may back bracket trimming the wires, but that wasn't my fault and she fixed it on the spot. TBF I don't eat sticky chewy candy, but I ate nuts and KIND bars the whole way. I did avoid biting into very hard fruit, like I chopped apples, but that is about it. I did eat popcorn, but I always flossed after and I never bit into any unpoppped kernels.

I started braces at 26 and I had a removable expander. It was the worst I'm so glad it's gone lol
