Bracing the STORMS at our first BORDER crossing into ESWATINI 🇸🇿 [S2EP2]

Today we are really heading off once again and start season 2! And we are starting it strong, we will immediately cross our first border. With a heatwave developing, we quickly take the gravel roads up into the mountains for some cooler riding, but halfway through the day the weather changes. Huge thunderstorms roll in out of nowhere and catch us off guard just before the border. The lighting and thunder is hectic, definitely a dramatic entrance into the beautiful new country of Eswatini!

The best video start you guys made. If you are open to some ideas, here are a few very important pointers to try include always in you videos. 1. Always show and tell us from where you stayed over night and town name. 2. Also show us snipits if meal preparation. 3. Discuss how you organised your carnet vehicle paper. 4. Share what kind of medical insurance you have. Otherwise glad you're back. Huge adventure ahead

Hi! Thank you for your tips, we appreciate all feedback! It is always a fine line for us how much we want to put out here on KZbin and how much time we want to spend on it. Secretly it takes us many many hours to put videos out here (filming, downloading, editing, uploading etc) and our main priority is to enjoy our time traveling. We fell into this trap where we felt pressurised to film everything and it became stressful, so we decided to not do that all the time. But we can make small changes to show more of where we are staying overnight etc. We normally say the towns name if we are staying in or near a town/city. Regarding the Carnet, we don't have one! We pay Temporary Import Permits for the motorbikes (Which was R100 per bike here in Eswatini) and that's it. It's something you pay for at every border post individually. Unfortunately we are not allowed to film inside the border post offices etc, so we can't include that part. And then your last question about medical insurance, we have a standard medical insurance here in South Africa and this covers us for 90 days outside of the country. We have not yet looked into other options. I hope this answers some of your questions and we will do our best to add more info regarding the towns etc.

All the southern African countries belong to the Southern African Development Community (SADEC) so we do not require carnets to move between the countries and permits and road insurance premiums are cheap. All we need to show for the bike are our ID and registration papers. If you are not a citizen of a SADEC country and/or have a foreign-registered bike then you will require a lot more paperwork (carnet, etc) and permits will be a lot more expensive.
