I think its just a general rule of thumb, but ten feet usually cuts it in my (meagre) experience. The type of your soil, whether you have a basement, annual rainfall, your drainage setup, etc are all factors that can lower or raise the necessary offset distance

What he says about harvesting 'waste' water is great, but even better in my opinion is what he says about creating culture and community around changes like this. Pancakes ftw!

At time mark 12:18 he says harvest within 30m but the slide said 30ft. Then he said not any closer than 10 metres but I think he meant no closer than 10 feet. Anyone know?

he said with in 30 meters, but farther than 10 meters way from your structure( which would be 30 ft away) reread the slide and you wont be confused any more.so he didnt mispeak you mis understood. your welcome

Considering Grey water, the goo in the soil is important, but the soap/detergent function is to clean that goo away, also, what about Humans and salt, and greywater?
