pitt did 2 movies were harvey weinstein was added to the credits after the fact - he (pitt) was pretty much the first person tarantino signed up for inglourious bastards because it was a role written specifically for him. weinstein was later added as an executive producer - not even a producer - and not involved in the direct making of the film. the other film was killing them softly, which was then auctioned off for distribution and weinstein won the bidding. there was no contact for that one, and the only contact for IB was meeting on the red carpet.

Weinstein's company distributed Inglorious Basterds and Weinstein was an executive producer, but Pitt did the movie because of Tarantino, not Weinstein. Weinstein's company distributed Killing Them Softly, they (and Weinstein himself) had no creative or executive role in the film, they simply distributed it. So you're wrong about Pitt starring in more than one Weinstein production; Weinstein produced one movie and it was only because of Tarantino that Pitt agreed to it. As for not going to the authorities, the onus wouldn't have been on Pitt to report the crime, it would've been on Paltrow, because she's the only one who could've pressed charges.

There is a very obvious gap in the many of the stories told by these high profile actresses. The steps are: 1. Young actress gets public attention 2. Harvey Weinstein invites them to his hotel room 3. Harvey makes sexual advances which the young actress rebuffs 4. Young actress goes on to star in major movies, win awards and become very popular So what is wrong with this picture? If Hollywood's casting couch has been rolling for decades and many actresses exchanged sexual favours for promotion and good roles, AND actresses will be blacklisted or ignored if they don't go along with the sexual transaction, then how exactly did these high profile actresses reject Weinstein and still make it? Or did they go through with it, and are telling a different version of events now that the Weinstein issue has come to light?

Its getting so bad now they even turn on each other, with Rachel Madcow and even Hillary being forced to eat their own Weinstein. Total breakdown. Of the left. Continues. Apace. This episode indicts all of Hollywood. What young, aspiring actresses see is rich and famous actresses saying, essentially "I was assaulted by Harvey Weinstein and now I'm rich and famous". Big name actresses coming forward just further entrenches the dynamic because it gives validity to the practice of quid pro quo sex trading in Hollywood as a standard practice- both parties get what they want. There's no cleaning this up because everyone is, on some level, implicated in the exchanges. It's like if a pimp opened up a hoe stroll on your suburban block and you looked away because he gave you a cut- is there anyone guiltless in that scenario? You know who the pimps and hoes are in this analogy. Guys like Clooney and Damon here are the guys taking a cut not to say anything, protecting and advancing their careers with their silence. They didn't know??? They dated half the women this guy assaulted. Their story does not check out. We can now stop pretending that Hollywood isn't a cesspool under the excuse of lack of open evidence.

Stan vaksman I think many people turned down his advances despite the opportunity he presented but the women who accepted it stayed silent out of guilt. Now that they're in a position where there voice can be heard they're taking off the blinders but I agree its been too long a time coming.

Stan vaksman well they should. You seem to forget that as a young 20 year old in this kind of industry you are incredibly vulnerable. They are both at fault but what they have to say isn't any less horrific. You can quite literally hear him say 'don't ruin our friendship' while coercing a woman to watch him shower. Even if she did this is not right, this is not okay at all. They are still victims because they were not his equal, not even close. He chose his power over them to manipulate them. Yes they should be praised, it is not easy to admit these things. Imagine the shame. Realise that they must be thinking people will judge them just as you are right now. People keep saying these women slept their way to the top but completely miss that this guy shouldn't have made it an option. He insinuated that you sleep with me or I ruin your career. Do you understand how hard actors work to land their first major role?? This is really sad.
